Most Christians feel that once you are saved then you are through and that you need no commitment whatsoever.Salvation is just a foundation,a building is not complete with only the foundation,what about the pillars,what about the doors,windows for security,what about the roof,what about the painting that brings out the beauty.So also salvation qualifies you to walk with God in order to fulfill your destiny in Christ but revelation of God's word is the pillar.
Why is it that most Christians live a life of defeat? It is simply because they lack an understanding of the difference between their spirit,soul and body. So a Christian even though is saved,he/she still commits sin regularly and still lives as if he is not saved.But by the help of the Holy Ghost today,your christianity will no longer be questionable.Because the fruit of the Spirit will be visible in your life.Galatians 5:19-26.
When you got born again,it is only your spirit that got saved.Because you are a tripartite being.That is you are a spirit,who has a soul and lives in a body.But at salvation it is only your spirit that was saved and quickened.Your mind was not saved,your body was not saved either.You are to work out the salvation of your mind,which is your soul by renewing it daily with the word of God.Romans 12:1-2.You are also to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.Philippians 2:12.
Even though you are saved and you fail to accept the responsibility of renewing your mind DAILY...you will still find yourself rising and falling irrespective of your title,whether you are a pastor or a bishop,or whether you have been saved for years.Your mind(soul) is what controls your flesh which is your body.If your mind does not know what is right,your body will not do what is right.Many Christians do what is wrong because their minds is not renewed daily with the word of God.
Prayer and fasting does not renew the mind,it only cause your spirit to be robust and charged and sensitive,you need the word of God like you need the air that you breathe.Not just for information but for the transformation of your mind,so that your flesh will eventually give way for the spirit to have dominion. I have seen people who fast and pray but still fall to sin after a period of fasting and prayers.This is because your mind will make your body to do what it does not want to do unless it is renewed by God's word daily.
The flesh does not die once and for all,it needs to die daily.No wonder paul said he dies daily in 1st Corinthians 15:31. Everyday you must renew your mind with God's word and obey it so as to deny the flesh from having its way.There is no good thing in the flesh,the best and the worst deeds of the flesh needs to be crucified daily.
So my brothers and sisters,do not feel that you are a sinner when you still commit sin as a christian.Ask God for forgiveness and take the responsibility of renewing your mind daily so that your mind can obey the spirit and your body will have no choice than to concur to the word of God.It all begins by a regular daily study of the word of God. The devil will distract you but make up your mind to study the word of God,just as you eat daily,read the word of God daily. It is the fullness of God's word inside your heart that gives you dominion over sin;Romans 6:14.The devil will have no legal ground to torment you from now on in Jesus Precious name.
As you do these,your physical needs will be met.Matthew 6:33. Be blessed in Jesus Precious name.
