Ur Steps
1. Cut Ur Expenses as low as possible, move to a cheaper, safe and affodable apt, stop spending on WANTS only on NEEDS
2. Start paying up your debts gradually, maybe monthly payment plan.
3. Do a good feasibility study on Ur wifes business or any other business before you invest, so that U can have something viable in case you lose your job.
4. Continue to assist your family on education and getting a job, some of them might train and get a Handywork to begin making money soon, they would help you and your children too later.

Mr. D first step to finding a solution is dat u realise u have a challenge. My advice is dat u imbibe a saving culture not in d hands of family member but in d bank,my be a fix deposit, u earn good money. Secondly, stop dashing out money to ur family members like u r CBN cos dy r family n u may most likely not get  d money back n u won't want to hv a case with ur family to get ur money back. Spend only when necessary n according to ur scale of preference of needs, cut down on irrelevant expenditure. Lastly, ask God to direct u n give a clearer vision on how to manage ur finance. For d dept try paying even if it mean paying installmently up to four times. Gudluck.

Quote from: jasuow on 12:52 PM,  9/04/2012
Today April 9, 2012, I clock 40 years of age. I am thankful to God for everything but my heart is heavy because I seem to have failed so far!
Currently on a monthly salary of =N=440,000 and having worked in paid employments for eight years, I have no house or land of my own, I have a ramshackle looking five years old tokunbo car and a total investment and savings less than =N=200,000 with indebtedness to the tune of a million naira!
I am not bewitched or under a spell (I believe) but this failure stems from wrong decisions, unhealthy empathy and sentiments.
So far, I have lost about =N=7 million naira in monies invested in the businesses of family members and loan granted to friends to solve their financial problems. These monies are not coming back, they are completely lost! I do not drink or womanise but sometimes wish I do because at least I would have known the bottomless pit that sang my money.
I have survived 3 mass sack of staff in the banking industry and I am just wondering what life will look like if eventually I am also asked to go home, moreso, with my wife still struggling in her high risk business venture with a networth of =N=1 million. This is my second attempt at setting her up.
I am the eldest in the family of seven (from both sides of my two fathers). 3 members of these families are still in the higher institution and this responsibility is on me. I have 3 kids of my own with the eldest in primary 2. I pay a rent of =N=400,000 annually and hope I and my family member remain in sound health so that I don’t have to incur any huge health expense.
All said and done, I am determined to succeed in this life. Analyse, advice and judge me!

MY BROTHER I BELIEVE YOU ARE EDUCATED OF WHICH YOU STUDIED ACCOUNTING AND ECONOMICS AS PART OF YOUR COURSE
IN BANKING.SO, ALL YOU NEED TO DO NOW IS, 1-DOWN SIZE,PACK INTO A HOUSE WHERE YOU RENT SHOULD BE BETWEEN THE RANGE OF 150,000 TO 200,000 ANNUALLY JUST FORGET ABOUT TOO MUCH COMFORT FOR NOW.

2-WITHDRAW YOUR KIDS FROM THE EXPENSIVE PRIVATE SCHOOL AND LOOK FOR A CHEAPER AND EFFICIENT ONE.

3.AVOID DISHING OUT LOANS WITH SENTIMENTS EVEN WHEN YOU KNOW THEY WILL TURN OUT TO BE BAD DEBT IN THE LONG RUN.

4-SPEND JUDICIOUSLY AND AVOID UNNECESSARY EXPENDITURE.

5.CONSULT GOD AND THINGS WILL START WORKING OUT FOR YOU AGAIN JUST BE FOCUSED AND YOU WILL NEVER BE TAGGED A FAILURE !
