Forum / Religion / Re: should we follow Moses law or the teaching of Jesus christ |
on: 14-07-2010 11:52 AM
| @ cadanre, I advise that you allow us to focus on the Posters question, & forget any thing you may have against 'Inemx' as he has not said anything wrong.
If the laws of Moses were perfect, there won't be any need for Jesus to come. Jesus summarized all the ten commandments into two(2) - 1. Love God with all your heart and all that you have. (2) Love your neighbour as yourself.
If you love God, you will not make graven images, you will not bow down to or worship them, you will show mercy to those who love God, you will not take The name of God in vain, you will keep the sabbath day holy.
If you love your neighbour, you will honour your father & mother, you will not kill, you will not commit adultery with him or her, you will not steal from him or her, you will not bear false witness against him or her, and you will not covet his or her property.
There's nothing to follow than the teachings of Jesus, The Way, The Truth & The life.

Forum / Religion / Re: IS IT A COMMAND TO MARRY? |
on: 5-07-2010 12:28 PM
| @inemx, Kindly forgive my late reply, I just saw your reply. As a Xtian, you must not live by what people say, but by The Word of God, all you need is there. ---Beware lest any man spoil you thru philosophy & vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ - Colossians 2:8 ---But refuse profane & old wives' fables, and exercise yourself rather unto Godliness - 1Tim.4:7 ---Prove all things; hold fast that which is good - 1Thessa.5:21
And on whether marriage is a command or not: ---But I speak of permission not of commandment. For I would that all men were as myself (unmarried). But every man has his proper gift of God, one after this manner & another after that. I say therefore to the unmarried & widows, it is good for them if they abide as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn (with passion) - 1Cor.7:6-9

| Getting married is a thing of choice and not a command, Apostle Paul advised that if you can't hold yourself, you get get married to the woman of your choice so that you won't be disturbed seeing other peoples' wives (don't know if you're a xtian or not).
If you don't feel like it, there's nothing wrong with you staying single (you don't have to follow society's 'received opinion' that you must get married after a certain age or for certain cultural reasons), just make sure you live a life that will glorify God, and also make sure that it's not a decision you will regret in your old age.
Make sure that your decision to stay single is not borne out of hatred for your mum, an ex-girl friend or an ex-wife (Know that there are exceptions to every rule), we still have few very good women out there, and you can prayerfully and patiently discover yours. Note: I must tell you that I am happily married (I am the happiest married man on earth).

| When a man says terrible things about women, he has a particular one in mind! You only say negative things about marriage when you've never met a virtuous woman. Marriage is sweet when you're with the right woman......there's nothing like it. | | |

Forum / Religion / Re: Why do "religious"people try to enforce God's laws? |
on: 3-05-2010 04:27 PM
| @ Originalsly, it depends on what you call shove, it's the duty of every believer to pass the Good News (Gospel) to unbelievers, it's left to you to prove their claim by going through the Bible(after praying for understanding), especially the new testament (just the same way you read books to get knowledge in other areas of life) & make the right choice (The Way, The Truth & The Life). Though some believers can be overzealous in their approach, you should see it just as some of your colleagues at work or in business can be too officious.
As you read the Bible to have a first hand experience (you should not be afraid to do so), pray to God to give you the HolySpirit, He is the one that will teach you all things.
Cheers!

| if there is the need for change. there is illiteracy, also diseases, famine, drought, conflicts, earthquakes, hurricanes and tsunamis. in short, life is hell, thus I create a utopia for free from all problems including a tree of knowledge. God did not do a good job at all.
Read Matthew 24:3-15, note Jesus' first answer in verse 4......Take heed that no man deceive you, verse 15 refers to Daniel 12:2-4. Also see 2nd Peter 2:1-4 Cheers! | | |

| @Krazykay & Youngdon, God will have mercy on & forgive both of you, He will save you by His Grace, Amen.
...Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister Grace unto the hearers - Ephesians - 4:29

Forum / Religion / Re: if jesus is a son of God, then who is the mother, and who is God ??? |
on: 3-05-2010 02:05 PM
| @ Krazykay, God will have mercy on you.
@ Darangi, ....do all things without murmurings & disputings, that you may be blameless & harmless, the son of God without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked & perverse nation, among whom you shine as light in the world - Phillipians 2:14:15
You're required to believe The Message of Jesus & the information in the New Testament (most of the Old Testament are histories of people & Prophets, including there mistakes, written as examples for us, so that we don't make the same mistakes). Jesus told Thomas.....blessed are they that have not seen & yet believed - John 20:20, so blessed are you when you believe without asking questions, but focus on how to affect His Kingdom positively.

Forum / Religion / Re: JESUS NEW NAME!!! |
on: 3-05-2010 01:35 PM
| @ Democrazy, the focus shouldn't be on the name Jesus will bear when he comes, that's btw Him & God . We must live everyday as if it's our last (Da Grin never knew he would die like that), We must live everyday as if Jesus can come that day (He can).
We must make a choice to live by the Words of Jesus......why do you call me Lord, Lord without doing the things which I say - Luke 6:46, to him that knows how to do good & doesn't do it, it is sin - James 4:17
See 1st John 2:15-17, Hebrew 12:14, 1st Timothy 4:12, Phillipians 4:8, Psalm 1:1-3 (I'll give you more, if you ask).
Meditate upon these things, give yourself wholly to them; that your profiting may appear to all - 1st Timothy 4:15

Forum / Religion / Re: Today's Prophessy By T.B Joshua |
on: 3-05-2010 12:56 PM
| We must be careful with what we focus on or base our opinions on. The fact that someone gives prophecy or whether the prophecy comes to past or not is not enough. Prophetic gifts can be operated thru the HolySpirit or thru demonic means, depending on the power source of the prophet (no prejudice intended).
We as endtime xtians are not expected to fold our hands and wait for prophecies, but we're expected to pray & make intercesions for people in authority, so that we can live a quiet and peaceful life - 1st Timothy 2:1-3

on: 3-05-2010 12:34 PM
| No, Pastors don't take advantage of people's poverty - most Pastors only take advantage of peoples ignorance, and people will not be ignorant if they study & meditate on the Word of God, pray for understanding & practice what they learn.......happy are you when you know & do the things you learn.

Forum / Relationships & Romance / Re: If u are a man pls be careful with these. |
on: 3-05-2010 11:46 AM
| @ Poster, being careful with money goes beyond being contented with what you have, how you use the money you have also matters. Some use their money to cause trouble (import illegal ammunitions, sponsor ethnic, religious & political crises all to their own gain), some waste their money trying to impress or please their friends & extended families (spray money on & buy precious things for musicians, buy expensive party uniforms - aso-ebi), some waste their money on expensive stuffs they don't need & can't afford (your needs are not your wants).
How will you live if money is not your problem? What will you do with your time? Most of us only focus on the pleasure we'll get after we make a lot of money, no other vision. That's why even some very rich people get bored with life and some goes about doing stupid things.
'Only people with worthwhile objectives their working on don't get bored.'
You must learn to use your money for what will add value to you & others, especially what will give glory to God.
Cheers!

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Collective Laziness Under “PRAYER” |
on: 12-02-2010 04:49 PM
| Your article seems to attack christianity in Nigeria and you appear to forget that Moslems make up to 40% of the nation and they pray a minimum of 5 times per day. You also forgot other religions in Nigeria. There is still traditional religions and they pray daily as well. We should pray and continue to pray. We have not been getting what we want via prayer because we do not know how to ask for what we need in our prayers. We do not wrestle against flesh but against principalities in high places, powers of darkness, etc. We may want to ask God to send us good leaders. It is God's instructions that we pray for our leaders and we should continue to pray for our leaders. Your urge for us to stop praying for our leaders is a sign of anti-God movement.
Faith without works is dead, but it was never referred to prayer. We are urged to pray without ceasing and that we shall do. The devil is the only spirit that does not want prayers. God is a spirit, we are spirit beings. Prayers when uttered correctly can move mountains and cast into the sea.
I refuse to listen to anti-prayer demons.
Thanks my sister, ppl need to understand God's instruction very well (study to show urself approved, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing d Words of Truth II Tim. 2:15) b4 condemning other ppls actions (him that's not doing it shldn't discourage him that's doing it). Prayers is d reason dis country is still 2geda, prayer is d reason we little or no natural disasters, prayer is d reason we have peace enough to go out there 4 business, 4 worship, 4 parties, 4 shows, in short, it takes prayers & answers from God 4 things to be normal.
