Incarcerated Yoruba nation agitator Chief Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a Sunday Igboho is scheduled to leave detention in Cotonou, Benin Republic today.
According to a report, negotiation for his release to get medical attention reached an advanced stage yesterday morning.
barring unforeseen factors, Igboho would be left off the hook latest today.
Igboho and his wife, Ropo, were arrested on Monday, July 19, 2021, by the International Criminal Police Organisation at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou, the Republic of Benin on their way to Germany.
He was trying to avoid being arrested by officials of the Nigerian Department of State Services, which had declared him wanted.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina has said Nigerians would survive the current fuel scarcity.
Adesina said heavens would not fall over the current fuel scarcity and Nigerians will survive like always.
He stated this in his latest weekly article on Thursday titled

Nigerians have been battling with fuel scarcity since February.
The scarcity is said to have been caused by the importation of adulterated fuel.
However, the Federal Government had assured Nigerians that normalcy would soon return because it has enough fuel.
Nigerian actress, Victoria Kolawole has lamented on social media after getting duped.
According to the star, she was duped by someone posing as a fan.
The actress said she was at the petrol station to get fuel but there was a queue, as has been the case for weeks now.
While waiting in her car, she said an "innocent looking guy" approached her and introduced himself as a fan. He then offered to buy fuel on her behalf.
She said she gave him money for fuel, extra money for his effort, and her keg for fuel but the guy never returned.

The federal government has blamed the low water levels in the hydro dams for the inconstant power supply in the country.
The Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, who spoke at a state house briefing on Thursday in Abuja, said the dry season resulted in the reduced hydro capacity of the dams.

“I would like to discuss the increased load shedding. You may have observed in Abuja and other areas in the country. With the reduction in hydro capacity during the dry season, additional loads need to be taken up by our gas plants,”
he said.
The minister said the ongoing maintenance work on some power plants around the country also contributed to the reduced power supply.

“We are having maintenance work in the eastern axis around Odupami, leading to reduced power supply from the usually reliable NDPHC Calabar power plant, and we are having challenges at Okoloma gas station linked to AFAM 6 power plant.
“We are working with NNPC and other gas suppliers. Also to improve the pressure on the western axis, and that is precluding this unit from reaching optimum supply. These challenges are surmountable.”
The minister added that the government is doing everything to make available an optimum supply of gas to ensure quick restoration of power

Long queues of cars, motorcycles and tricycles have resurfaced in most parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Our correspondent who went round some strategic areas in Ibadan on Wednesday and Thursday observed that long queues of private and commercial vehicles, motorcycles and tricycles have resurfaced in most of the petroleum stations in the ancient city.
Some of the areas visited by our correspondent included Sango, Bodija, Total Garden, Mokola, Apete, Awotan, Ijokodo and Gate.

Former Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye housemate, Tega Dominic on Sunday warned trolls and critics who were coming for her.
Tega, who was involved in controversies last year during BBNaija, gave the warning on her Twitter page.
Due to her ‘romantic’ involvement with a housemate, Boma, during the show, Tega has been faced with lots of criticisms and internet trolling.
In a lengthy thread, the mother-of-one, who was the only married female BBNaija contestant last year, noted that she would not only reply to trolls but would also come for their families too.
She also advised fans that they should stop bullying people as some people were not strong enough to go through it.

A 45-year-old man who posed as a medical doctor, has been arraigned before a court yesterday in Ede, Osun State, for allegedly cutting off a patient’s hand.
Yusuf Olaniyi is being tried for attempted murder, false representation, breach of public peace and unprofessional act.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Police Prosecutor, Rasak Lamidi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences between August 3 and November 27, 2021.
Mr Lamidi said the accused allegedly paraded himself as a medical practitioner and cut off the hand of his patient, knowing fully he was not qualified for such a practice.
He said the situation led to the breach of public peace between the family of the patient and the defendant.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 344, 484 and 249 (d) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol.11, laws of Osun, 2002.
The Defence Counsel, T. O Shittu, prayed the court to grant his client baiI in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, O. Ajala, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in the like sum.
Mrs Ajala said the sureties must reside within the court jurisdiction and must have evidence of tax payments to Osun State Government.
She said the sureties must have their passports photographs attached to the affidavit of means.
She said that one of the sureties must be a civil servant on Grade Level 10, while the other a closed relative of the defendant.
Mrs Ajala adjourned the cause until April 5 for hearing.

A Federal High Court sitting in Gudu, Abuja Hon. Justice M. Adebayo, on Thursday, ordered the unconditional release of Jude Chuks Obasi and awarded the sum of N5 million against the Inspector General of Police, IGP, over alleged violation of the fundamental human rights of Obasi.
The lead counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, stated this in a statement to newsmen in Owerri.
According to Ejiofor, Obasi, a resident of Nnewi, Anambra state, was allegedly abducted on 31 March 2021 led by the suspended DCP Abba Kyari, Intelligence Response Team, IRT.
To this extent, the IPOB lawyer said that they would activate all machinery to make sure that the order of the court will be obeyed.
According to IPOB, “A blessed Abuja Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Gudu District Abuja, just delivered judgement in a fundamental rights suit we filed on behalf of Mazi Jude Chuks Obasi.

“In His Lordship’s well-considered judgement just delivered now, the court ordered the Inspector General of Police on one side, and its Intelligence Response Team, hitherto led by the suspended DCP Abba Kyari, to immediately and unconditionally release Mr Obasi, who has been kept in their solitary confinement at the wee hours of the night from his residence at Nnewi, on the 31st day of March 2021, without access to us- his lawyers, relatives and family members.
“The court further Ordered the IGP and its Intelligence Response Team to immediately tender an unreserved apology in two National Dailies to Mr Jude Chuks Obasi. The court consequently awarded the sum of N5,000,000.00 ( Five Million Naira Only) as reparation for the gross violation of the fundamental rights of Mr Obasi.”

The Governor of Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai revealed that he pulled his son out of a public school due to kidnapping threats.
This is as he said his decision to enrol his son in a public school to affirm his confidence in the Kaduna State education system.
El-Rufai said this on Thursday during the weekly ministerial briefing organised by the Presidential Communications Team at the State House, Abuja.
He revealed that his government had hired more people than it had sacked in the last five years, adding that 7,700 qualified secondary school teachers have been recruited and would be deployed once he was done purging secondary schools of underqualified teachers.

An FCT Family Court sitting at the Magistrate District, Wuse Zone II, Abuja, has restrained Precious Chikwendu, from making comments that could lead to identification of children whose custody issues have been submitted before it for determination.
Chikwendu is the former wife of ex-Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, the applicant in the matter.
The presiding judge, Njideka Duru, gave the order following an ex-parte motion moved by the applicant’s counsel, Adeola Adedipe, to the effect.
The judge, thereafter, granted the order of interim injunction restraining Chikwendu “from publishing the names, address, school, photographs or making any comment, presenting any speech or paper whether at a public gathering or during a programme described as ‘Green Shift’ (Apostolic Roundtables) slated for Feb. 24.”
She also granted the order restraining the ex-wife from commenting “on any social media platform of any information likely to lead to the identification of any of the children whose custody issues have been submitted to this court for determination, pending the determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.”
Adedipe, in the motion ex-parte marked: MN/05/2022 filed on Feb. 14 on behalf of Fani-Kayode, prayed the court for four orders, which include “an order granting leave to the applicant, to amend the originating process filed in this case.”
He sought for an order of substituted service on the respondent of the amended originating motion, motion on notice for interlocutory injunction and hearing notice.
The lawyer also sought for an order setting down for hearing in camera, the conduct of any or all proceedings in this case, in the best interest of the children involved; to preserve their respective rights to dignity and privacy.
He also asked the court for an order of interim injunction stopping Chikwendu or associates from making presentations at any public gathering or social media platform of the broken relationship.
The judge, who granted the orders for substituted service and to amend the originating process, also granted reliefs 1, 2, 3 and 4(b) of the application.
She adjourned the matter until March 24 for hearing.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Chikwendu, an ex-beauty queen, was on Feb. 14, docked before Justice Inyang Ekwo of a Federal High Court (FHC), Abuja for the attempted murder of her former husband, Fani-Kayode.
Though pleaded not guilty in the charge number: FHCABJ/CR/1/2022 filed by the FCT Commissioner of Police against her and three others, the ex-wife was alleged to have attempted to stab Fani-Kayode with a kitchen knife on Nov. 24, 2018, at Asokoro, within the court jurisdiction.
Prosecuting counsel, John Ijagbemi, had also told the newsmen that the complainant planned to amend the charge to include an attempt by Chikwendu to kill the four children she had for the ex-minister going by the facts available to the police.
Justice Ekwo had fixed April 27 for the trial.
Chikwendu, who was accused of infidelity by the former minister, was also said to have withdrawn various civil cases filed against Fani-Kayode.
Although the duo had parted ways, the former minister said Chikwendu had always been given access to her children under closed supervision due to her alleged mental challenges which could result in hurting the children.
The former minister had also alleged that Chikwendu stopped calling the children on the telephone for about seven months now contrary to her habit in the past.
