Are you sure he killed himself? He seemed to have been preparing for his daughter's wedding. Usually, before people kill themselves, you'll notice a certain level of withdrawal and they would hardly make any plans exceeding the day they plan killing themselves.

I wouldn't rate Zaria as peaceful in any way. Moreover, there's nothing interesting in that town at all except for the schools that bring people from diverse cultures together.
