I am very happy for the young couple fulfilling their dreams of wedding each other; what I do not understand in this 21st century (2011) is how the "Royal" family can spend 48 million English Pounds lavishly on this wedding when many citizens are suffering without jobs in the British country of United Kingdom.  How soon do we forget that this was the same people that colonized Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Kenya, Uganda, Rhodesia, South Africa, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, The Caribbean (West Indies) and many more; after taken our country from another colonized "Master" the Portuguese.  Now, after ruling us tyranically, brutally, senselessly, stole majority of our artifacts, gold, oil, and many natural resources; we Nigerians steal our own money that we can use for the betterment of our people and take this money to the WHITE FOLKS that are already rich and hide it in their banks and buy lavish things instead of improving our own needed lifestyles, improving education, creating jobs for our youths, building manufacturing industries, developing new infrastructures and on and on.  I do not support the wanton waste of money like that; but we Nigerians are terrible perpetrators of this nonsense.  Spending maybe a million or two, I can understand, but wasting $55 million dollars (9 Billion Naira almost) on an ordinary wedding and taking the citizens of Britain and the Commonwealth for granted and kicking all the "commoners" in the behind.  We are now seeing a lot of dissent and revolts in many parts of the world, especially in Egypt, Bahrain, Tunisia, Libya, Morocco, Jordan, Syria to name a few and most recent in Uganda.  We need to think about this seriously and STOP UNDERRATING our youths who will be the leaders of tomorrow.  The youths in Britain are watching and I heard from the news and some of my friends living in England that many people are being arrested for protesting about this lavish waste of money for this Royal wedding.  The Pomp and Pageantry is fine and dandy, but what will be the long run effect of this archaic ways of royalty and monarchy cheating the mass?  I guess all the kingship in the North, East, West and South of Nigeria should be having a second thought of how they treat the subjects that are under them.  The need to start Creating needed JOBS, Providing continuous needed ENERGY, boosting MANUFACTURING of goods in all sectors, building our ROADS locally, nationwide and maintaining them, improving the EDUCATION and infusing HONESTY into our society; should be the prime change and focus of our leaders.  Emulating the Royal Wedding and not taking care of our own backyard is not the best way to go.  I am just expressing my own individual opinion about what I feel; don't let us GET STUCK ON STUPID; it is going to keep coming back to haunt us all.

I am very moved, touch and pleased to read about this smart and gifted Nigerian, Mr. Shehu Saleh Balami.  Our country Nigeria is a great country with so many talents and many of it is current lost to the rich, selfish, greedy Western World.  We already are suffering from the great brain drain of our country losing well educated and talented inventors, educators, scientists, economist, doctors, engineers and most well advanced and knowledgeable in many disciplines.  I commend this young man and C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-E him.  Hopefully, the Nigerian Government entity responsible for developing scientific research in all fields should capitalize and shield this young man and procure him and set him up in a research center in our great country.  We all need to support his achievement, invention and rally round him and other gifted Nigerians, male or female and we will see our country catapult into realm of greatness.  The future looks mighty good for Mother N-I-G-E-R-I-A.

This has been going on for ages; the people running the government are aware of it.  This is just what is reported, that this foursome "fools" are caught by the SSS.  How many of this type incidents were not caught or reported and the money are siphoned out of Nigerian Airports, Sea Ports, Inter-Country Check Points.  Definitely they are ill amassed of ill gotten gains.  The so called Nigerians do not care about our country NIGERIA nor do they care about the citizens of Nigeria.  These are the type of things that has kept us backwards at almost every level.  May the good Lord give us good leaders that can stop and combat these illicit nonsense.  It seems our country needs to be dismantled and start from scratch because nothing seems to be working right at all.  So many brain drain and so many headaches and so many bad stories all the time.
4  Forum / Family / Re: Women: who comes first between your child and your husband? on: 6-02-2011 05:08 PM
Our society in Nigeria as a whole is still way behind time and behind many countries in realism and standards.  OUR CHILDREN should always be #1 at any time, any place and as a matter of fact all the time.  Children are our future, and they need to be nutured, taken care of, raise properly, guided, fed well, because they are our replacement.  For example, in our culture, 99% of the time, when the food are fixed, it is the husband that always expected to be served first with a big chunk of the meal and usually the left overs or what maybe left of the food is given to the child or the children.  This is a very wrong concept; because why bring the child to the world when you cannot show love, show proper care and adoration and he or she is always the last to be considered or seen in the household.  This is one of the critical reasons we are grossly under-developed in Africa, especially in the Equitorial Region of the world.  Most learned people of our society that are well read and have traveled to developed countries would have noted and seen that their children are the very first to be fed, show much love and be taken care of.  We are still doing majority of our things in Nigeria and other countries of Africa backwards and we are in a gross state of confusion and we'll be wondering why are we not progressing??  We are not progressing and lacking in growth in so many areas because we do not give the ultimate love and respect to our children because we treat them as 2nd and 3rd class people.  We need to break that barrier of making our children top most and we will start seeing remarkable achievements and changes in our attitudes and behavior.  It is absurd to even be thinking or comparing who should come first.  Common Sense should tell any progressive and right thinking individual that this is the best and the righteous way to go.  It is not a matter of competition, but the husband/father should be the one to initiate in the household that the child should be seen, fed, nutured properly before him.  The child is not a subject or object to be treated as a slave or 2nd class citizen and even slaves and other people are supposed to be treat EQUAL with standards that should be above and beyond.  This is where your glory will lie as an able leader, father, mother and head of household.  Let all of us try to begin thinking at this level and the next generation of people to come will evolve as champions at greater magnitude and will become loving, caring and effective parents and leaders.  Our Nigeria is a great nation, we all just need to start re-focusing on our priorities.  OUR CHILD/CHILDREN SHOULD ALWAYS COME FIRST BEFORE THE HUSBAND and THE HUSBAND/FATHER SHOULD CHAMPION THIS CAUSE.  If your food is prepared for you first, tell her to feed your children first.  They are our future and you will be so proud.

There need to be more collaboration between neighboring countries apprehending, prosecuting, jailing and giving necessary justice to anyone that commit any crime from stealing, robbery, rape, larceny, murder or whatever it is.  The cooperation between the two countries is commendable and worthy and we need more.  Our great AFRICA will evolve as a world leader in so many area real soon.

That dead professor was obsessed about the young honeypot he is about to lose and he thought that was the end of the world for him and couldn't figure out how to handle the "rejection" or "independence" being claimed by his dead wife.  Loneliness, lonesomeness, selfishness, boredom, ego, distorted love, insecurity, disparity in age, academic nonsense and much more are the work of the DEVIL; we see this everyday at home in Nigeria and the Diaspora worldwide.  He should have just killed himself and leave the poor woman alone; our God made BILLIONS of people; if you cannot get along with one person; you have opportunities to meet other beautiful people he will send your way, whether you are POOR or RICH.  What a weird DESTINY of faith.  My sincere condolences goes to all the family and especially the grown and growing up children.  What a Psychopath; What a waste of life!!!

That guy need to be turned to the ICC (International Criminal Court) which is 90+ countries strong; arrested, tried for (maybe) fairness and judge by the International Court.  There is no room for fanaticism in this day and age, like child abuse, slavery, religious fanaticism, be it Christianity, Islamic, Buddhism or whatever your religious faith is.  It is absurd to be hearing and reading such a senseless act in the 21st Century.  Why didn't they ban the Television these folks were watching or anything that originates from the "Christian Cultures"; don't buy Japanese cars because they descend from the Buddhists and don't buy anything from China because they do not practice Islam.  So stupid and they are just behind time or just cannibalistic in nature.
