I am still stunned after reading this.  I just cannot come to it that this is real.  Traditional medicine will not help this guy, he needs antibiotics to ward off infection and good medical care, and nutritional meals.  I hope someone can assist with his medical care, it would be a shame for him to lose his leg to gangrene after all he's already been through.   I feel for the everyday person who has to deal with such animals who are on a  power trip, calling themselves police, Animals in uniform.

Story sounds made up.  Agnes would never had told her hubby she was pregnant,  and let it go as far as his parents ears.  In the real world, Agnes would have had her abortion in the quiet behind her husband's back and moved on  her merry way.  In the case of a marriage I do not think a woman should have absolute right over her body in a choice like this.  As for a single unmarried woman, I believe she should have absolute right over her body to choose her path.  All unborn fetuses are not human, until they are born and look like a human child.  Many women have had things growing in them that when born were not human.  A fetus has no superior right over its mother because its mother has to be alive for it to live.

@ Celestial1, I was sceptical like you when I read the story but on second reading, I realised that the poster was very economical with his  words. . Agnes is 8 weeks pregnant to the jubilation and delight of Joseph’s parents. However, Agnes is now insisting on having abortion because any child bearing now would jeopardise her career prospects. The sentences in red are a direct quote from a passage in the story. It seems they family were overjoyed initially but on reflection, Agnes changed her mind and is 'now insisting on having abortion'

The other point you asserted that I am not comfortable with is the idea that a married could sneak behind her husband to abort his child without telling him. Such a wife could easily sleep around and be most unfaithful without the husband being none the wiser for it. Is that your idea of marriage?

I refer you to the other arguments made by pals such as and I quote" I think most people will agree that human beings should take responsibility for the consequences of their actions. Thus, abortion is wrong where the mother willingly had sex, not because of the moral status of the foetus but because of the responsibilities of the mother. Look at it this way, if you voluntarily act in a way that brings about the existence of a person or a foetus, then you have a responsibility to maintain the life of that person or foetus. Therefore, abortion is wrong where the mother had sex of her own free will. Sure a woman has the right to choose whether or not to become pregnant. She makes that choice before engaging in sex. To make that 'choice' after a pregnancy is underway, merely as a matter of birth control, is an immoral act".

Further, from a christian point of view consider this argument and I quote" On the basis of natural law written word of God, human life begins when the woman's egg is fertilised by a male sperm. From that moment a unique life begins, independent of the life of the mother and father. The features that distinguish us from our parents - the colour of our eyes, the shape of our face - are all laid down in the genetic code that comes into existence then. Each new life that begins at this point is not a potential human being but a human being with potential. On this basis I think abortion is an act of murder".

To conclude, abortion is murder of a God-given life.

Of course abortion as a topic is a very hot potato and as an act is pure murder of the innocent defenceless victim

The idea that every marriage is an open book and each spouse shares everything with each other in a loving, balanced and mutually rewarding atmosphere is a romanticized version of the true reality of many marriages.  The reality of marriage is that many people do things behind their spouses back everyday; whether that is cheating, having an abortion, buying homes in distant locales without the knowledge of the other, having illegitimate children, bring home a STD..etc.  What I believe to be the ideal marriage has nothing to do with the reality of marriage for many.  Women have abortions behind their husbands back everyday, just as how men get other women pregnant behind their wives back everyday. Also many married couple  decide together to have an abortion if a child is coming that they cannot afford financially, or will be severely disabled.  I know it is hard to believe, but sometimes couples do have to go down that road.  It is not my place to tell someone to keep their child when I am not going to care for it for them.  Another thing I see is that many ppl who are anti-abortion never adopt children even if they can financially handle it.  Look at all the children who are waiting for loving homes and these die hard religious types who believe every child is a gift never choose to take home one of these precious gifts to treasure.  Even the freaking pastors and leaders of various faiths never set the example of adopting.  A true anti-abortionists is also actively involved in bettering the lives of those children who are already here on the earth.

Unfortunately, I don't think God will fight this battle of corrupt elected officials for Nigerians.  The citizenry of Nigeria will have to fight, denounce, and show the world the rape they are suffering from corrupt officials.  Waiting on God has not worked in all these years, all it has done is fatten more pockets and push more into abject poverty and living in an undignified manner. A rich country with so many resources as Nigeria should not have the majority of its populace living in poverty.     Let God be your armour, but you will have to do the dirty work if you want a better Nigeria for your children and grandchildren. Good luck!

For me it is, too many women have been faithful wives while their husband brought home STDs to them, some even fatal.  I couldn't live with the thought of my husband eating another woman and coming home to kiss me and his children, or wanting me to give him a BJ while he was all up in someone else..NASTY!!!.  Believe me, men who cheat will do things with other women they will never ever think of doing with their wives.  Let each person take what they can bare.

I blame them both.  He should have done some research on the culture of this woman and she should have been more forthcoming about the inner workings of her tribe.  I couldn't do it, but I him well in whatever he chooses to do.

Kudos to her for sticking to her principles.   I would probably sleep with a boss to keep my job if I was living hand to mouth and had children to feed.  It would have to be in a situation of extreme financial stress/poverty and no other way out.  I would also record all the encounters and conversations to make sure I have a trump card in case he doesn't live up to his end of the bargain.

All when they weren't caught doing anything they are sending them home to get black faces out of their country because of a few bad apples.  At least they are not killing them outright like they are doing in Libya.   Arabs will never like blacks no matter how Muslim you be, many have been fooled that their Muslim religion will spare them..please!

133  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Poverty & Prostitution In Edo State, Baby Market In Abia State [Video] (Page 12) on: 19-08-2011 04:55 PM
The reason why there is a report on this situation is that the vast majority like 90% or higher of the girls working the streets in that town in Italy are Nigerian.  This disproportionate amt of working girls is what prompted the report in the first place.  I think I was reading that since the influx of Nigerian prostitutes in Italy, all the Italian prostitutes have now gone into brothels.  Imagine if all the prostitutes working the streets in Nigeria were white women from Britain, it would be odd and you would also wonder why white women from Britain were coming to Nigeria en mass to do prostitution.  I think these reports need to be done to be used as educational tools in Nigeria, so young girls and their families know what is really going on.  The babies being sold is highly disturbing as I am wondering if they are being sold to ppl in pedophile rings.  Both issues are very serious and deserve to be brought to light.  Nigerian journalists can also do these type of investigative reports, why aren't they?
134  Forum / Relationships & Romance / Re: Marriage Is Not Compulsory For A Woman (Page 5) on: 16-08-2011 06:42 PM
No, marriage is not compulsory for everyone. If it was then the very creator of the Christian faith would have been married.  Everyone keep quoting the Bible and referencing God, but Jesus never married.  If marriage was compulsory then Jesus would have set the example by marrying himself.  Paul, one of the premier writers of the New Testament never married.  Marriage is compulsory for the raising of children. Outside of having a family, I really do not see the necessity of marriage. Except, that  there is also an economic benefit to marriage, two average incomes can go farther than just one, so ppl who want to go further in the world and have access to a better quality of life should probably marry to someone who they can merge incomes with and increase their financial benefits together.

I keep wondering why some folks keep saying it's Edo girls.  It makes it seem as though only Edo girls have honeypots.  Nigerians are crazy with their segregationist mentality.  This is a tragic tale of hopes gone down the drain and gullible women, girls and men being duped into believing they were going to do hair,  weave baskets, or work on farms to help their family.   It is a shame for these ppl male and female to suffer so in a strange land.  The bloody town looks like a damn dump anyways, looks no bloody better than Lagos.  May they be released from their mental slavery and be uplifted spiritually, emotionally and financially.

Doctors say 6 weeks for honeypotl deliveries..most ppl I know wait three months so the body can be fully healed.  If she had a C-section then doctors will tell her to wait longer than six weeks.
