So Harden broke his ankle and I am supposed to be happy with that. Well I am not.

Get well soon Mr Harden.

Was there anyone out there expecting Nigeria to win? I for one was not.

Come on England.

My write up said "most" African countries not "all!"

Where did you study?
6363  Forum / Sports / Re: Sex and Condoms Fire Up Athletes At The London Olympics on: 1-08-2012 01:29 PM
Do what you were sent there to do and that is to win medals.

Other 15 and 16 year olds are there doing their respective countries well and winning their events.

Do the same for once! We all know condoms are made available to the competitors. England does not want AIDS left as the legacy

for hosting the world!!! This is not news.

Now where are the medals Nigeria has won so far?
6364  Forum / The Buzz Central / Re: Olympic mess: panic in the cameroonian camp as a female footballer goes missing. on: 1-08-2012 01:25 PM
I hope she is not seeking for asylum!!!!!!!

I still haven't got over the shame of the man from Niger who loudly told the world he only took up rowing 3 months before the Olympic

games! This is more shameful especially when other nations of the world started training at least 4 years ago. We see youngsters

aged 15 and 16 winning medals for their countries. As always we are there as the underdogs.

A big shame on the IOC in Africa!!!
6365  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Ladies & Gents: Here Are The Poorest Countries In The World! on: 1-08-2012 01:18 PM
I have gone through the list and the majority of the poorest countries in the world are in the African continent!

So Naijapals with this article, are you boasting about it or apologizing for the immature handling of our resources?
6366  Forum / Sports / Re: [Photos] London Olympics 2012 : Meet Team Nigeria on: 30-07-2012 01:59 PM
I wish the Nigeria contingent the best.

On a more serious note, I hope Nigeria has not included a "have -a-go-hero" in the contingent.

In the Olympics of 2000, it was "Eric the Eel" from Equatorial Guinea who could not swim to save the life of his parents. Now in London 2012, it's Hamadou Djobou Issaka (a rower?) of Niger. If you don't know, when all the other nations had finished the heat Hamadou was still struggling in vain to catch up with them.

Why do African nations like to "show off" their ineptitude in getting ready for such events. Hamadou had only three months of training. As far as I am concerned that is no excuse. We know every 4 years the Olympics comes round and nations start to get their athletes ready. But for Africa it's as if the invitation to the London 2012 only came in the post yesterday and there was a scamble to find representatives for the various events.

I thought the Olympics was for the best of the best to compete in? Not for nations who through the years are always ill prepared and send in anything to answer "present master." If Hamadou is the best in his country, Niger, can bring for the Games in London shame on them.

Africa should understand that behind all the clapping from the spectators when one of ours is still struggling to finish when the race is long over, it does not leave Africa in good light. We appear forever beggars!

If nations like,  Senegal and other African nations in the long distant races (Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia etc) and of course Nigeria are "in it to win it,"  why send "have a go heros?"

People as young as 15 and 16 are competing and doing their nations proud by winning medals. Everyone wants to show the world "what you can do we can do better."

As a continent lets do the same thing. Lets be patriotic and disciplined and send in people who give their own quota. When answering the call of the IOC to send in any five people to compete in various events, think of events where you stand a chance. Niger is a landlocked country how does he hope to learn to row 3 months prior to the beggest sporting event.

I know in Niger when he gets home he will be hailed a hero and probably be made the  president in the next election or become a film star in a home movie!!!

Good luck to him!!!!!!

And by the way, when will we see an indigene of the Niger delta (riverine area) in an Olympic swimming event? You would think because they are surrounded by water they can at least learn to swim!!!

Just asking!

I do not agree with Anambra state being classified as educationally backward however are we poor?

Yes we are and we need help.

So El-Rufai are you providing the necessary funds to set Anambra back on the road to glory or has our ill thought off

governors reply put you off?

There are industries in the state that need urgent government backing to be put back into production. We have several schools

that need refurbishing. We have some of the worst roads east of the Niger.

I do not see why everything has to be turned into tribal politics.

6370  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Communal Clash: 8 People Injured, 72 Houses Destroyed In Anambra State on: 14-07-2012 03:34 PM
The message I was putting across was that the current problems in the country will not necessarily be solved by Nigeria dividing up into

smaller clichés!! Every peace loving person, including myself, wants stability and success in Nigeria (and the whole of Africa).

However we should not give the impression (especially to the Igbo masses who are less enlightened) that once we succeed and get self

governance all problems will disappear overnight because they will not.

My intention was not to offend anyone.

IGBO KWENU!

Its funny how people believe that Nigeria dividing up along tribal lines will make things better.

This incident has shown us all the same petty "dislike" of each other will continue unchecked.

Good luck to those proposing November 5th as the day Biafra will be reborn!!!!

If the survey had portrayed Nigeria in a good light, would Dr Reuben Abati be complaining?Huh?  I don't think so.

But then of course when nasty things are said about you or your friends or one's country one is expected to stand up and defend them even when we  see some truth however small in such findings.  No one likes to look bad to the rest of the world!!!!

However our leaders should sit down and try to determine what led to the results portraying Nigeria as such. They should seek and ask the opinions of ordinary Nigerians and determine how they see the findings.

Sometimes surveys (however "unpatriotic" we may find them) can in a way open our eyes to things that have been overlooked and need improvement.

So Dr R Abati do not throw away (or file in your out tray) their findings just yet, take a breather, be honest and determine wheteher we can learn anything from it.

A survey found the The London Metropolitan Police institutionally racist.  Though there is still a lot of work to be done, if they had dismissed the findings and not worked in improving relations and understanding of ethnic minorities,  racial stereotyping would continue unabated.

Have a nice day.

I do not believe this was written by a black woman.

It is more likely written by someone (not an African) trying to stir up sentiments and get real black people offended.

This same person will then go on to collect these comments made on Naijapals and use them to conduct a study.

It has happened before.

The title of his "find" will most probably be, "The Thinking of Black People." A 10 Year Study Across the Continent.

So beware of your comments here.

Racism!     Tribalism!

What's the difference?

Yorubas hate the Igbos, Igbos hate the Hausa, Efik hate the Ijaw, Kuje hate the Fulani and so on.

When will it end???

The highest percentage of skin lightening cream users can be found amongst the Asian population.

And that's a fact.
6380  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: MUSLIM NIGERIAN AMBASSADOR IN GERMANY DEPORTING NIGERIANS on: 21-06-2012 05:59 PM
It is wrong to condemn Dr N Azikiwe because he wanted peace to reign in Nigeria.

You can say whatever nasty things you want to say against him but deep down the vast majority of Nigerians are corrupt. And this is affecting our existence as a nation and not the fact we are of different tribes.  There are other countries in the world where different tribes and tongues that co exist peacefully and are doing well.

A question that I would like answered sincerely is, do you really think there will be peace and progress if Nigeria is to divide into tribes/clans/homesteads?

I definitely do not think so!

I do not see the people of the riverine areas leaving the Igbo to take control of the oil or it's wealth.

It's like asking for peace between the people of Awka and Amawbia in Anambra state!!!
