I am a job seeker and one of my facebook friends (Let’s call him Mr. Good Samaritan who turns out to be nwa afo igbo) told me 2 forward a copy of my CV to his company e-mail (
[email protected]) and to his personal e-mail so that he will have a copy with which to push the employment process which I did. On Monday, 30th July, 2012, I got a mail from them inviting me for an interview to be held on 1st Aug 2012 at 55-59 satcom close, Enugu. Since the address is not a clear one, I inquired from Mr Good Samaritan who told me dt its at Independence layout. The “company” name is SatcomDirect (an IT firm). I was happy, I thanked him and arrangements were I would stay when I get there to Enugu, by the way, I don’t reside in the east. My arrangement to stay wt my friends’ family in Enugu did not go down well with Mr. Good Samaritan bcos maybe he wants to be the one to arrange were I will stay but I objected to that. He said we will sort it out in d morning.Tuesday, 31st July at about 6:38am on my way to the park 2 board a bus going 2 Enugu, I got a text frm them saying the interview has been shifted to another Anambra State, (48-49 Akanze Avenue, Onitsha north) due to the northern threat of bombing Enugu and its environs within 48hrs.On reading this alarm bells went off in my head for the following reason(1) An IT firm with no website cos I checked (satcomdirect.com is an American company)(2) An IT firm with no official number (they were using 0809……….)(3) Shifting an interview frm one state 2 another within 12hrs(4) Anambra, is it not within the environs of Enugu(5) They must be very dedicated to their work if the HR can be awake calling people (or maybe only me as a special candidate) by 6:38am abt a relocated interview venue(6) The sorting out of where I will be staying by Mr. Good Samaritan is to change location to place he felt I know no one. I will be left wt no option than to either lodge in an hotel or rely o him and be lured 2 God knows where.At this point, I sold my ticket, went back home, got in touch with SatcomDirect USA office and was told that that satcomdirect have offices only in USA and Dubai. No business, no office in Nigeria and by the way they deal on aeroplane parts and equipments. Mr. Good Samaritan who calls everyday no longer calls after calling me on d day I was supposed 2 travel telling me how amazing it is that a simple tet of working under preure, I failed. My dear umunnem, pls tell me, what has this got to do with pressure. I tried calling him later bt lo and behold, he does nt know who was calling. MAGA NO GREE FALL ABI?
MY QUESTION NOW IS, WHO ARE THEY? Kidnappers, Ritualists or Scammers? Most of my friends and family say they are either ritualists or kidnapper since their aim of shifting the “interview” to another state was to take me to a dessert were I know no one.THIS A TRU STORY. JOB SEEKERS BE CAREFUL AS U MY NOT BE AS LUCKY AS I WAS.i want 2 add this to it.
