3841  Forum / The Buzz Central / M.I Proposes To Female Fan! on: 11-04-2014 08:50 AM
It was fun all through , as one of Nigeria’s top music concert Star trek hit state capital of Benue, Makurdi , as different music artistes thrill their fans with their different hit tracks .

But something happened, when Nigerian music star M.I was at Makurdi for the on-going Star Trek and there's this female fan of his also present there. She's a dwarf and M.I asked her to come on stage as he performs.

Then he asked her if she has a boyfriend. She said no. He asked if he can be her boyfriend, and of course, the girl knew he must be joking. She shyly didn't say anything and guess what; M.I carried her like a baby!
3842  Forum / The Buzz Central / Wow! Tonto Dikeh Tweets that Her Siblings are 'Unworthy' of Her... on: 11-04-2014 08:42 AM
This may be too harsh! It's National Siblings Day today and here's the message Tonto Dikeh shared with her fans on Instagram.

In it, Tonto Dikeh who has six siblings - four from her mum, two from her step mother, is telling the world that she is her own family, sibling. That even though she's got siblings, she doesn't recognize them at all.

Reason for her action may not be far fetched tho cos I guess Tonto is trying to get back at her sister,
Tushmee, who publicly cursed her out on Twitter in February for saying she grew up poor. You remember that incident right?

Tonto had in a touching and emotional message she shared with fans talked about her struggles before becoming famous, claiming she used to beg for food and clean rooms for N200. But everyone was shocked when Tonto's sister, Tushmee, publicly blasted and shamed the actress for daring to make their father look incapable of taking care of his kids just because Tonto wanted to be relevant.

Tonto never replied her sister but today she's telling the world her siblings are unworthy.
3843  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Meet the Indian Conjoined Twins who are Worshipped as gods and say They on: 10-04-2014 03:52 PM
Conjoined twins Shivanath and Shivram Sahu caused quite a stir when they were born in India, with some people in their village worshipping them as divine incarnations. And while one doctor has said that it would be possible to separate them, the 12-year-old boys, who were born joined at the waist, are determined to remain together.

The twins share two legs and four arms and work in tandem to get around. They are believed to share the same stomach but have independent lungs, hearts and brains.

The twins are able to walk down the stairs of their simple split-level home and even run on all six limbs to play cricket and other games with neighbouring children. And with practice they have learned to do all their
basic daily chores with minimal fuss, including showering, eating, getting dressed and combing each other's hair. They are also talented academics and considered among the top students at their local school, much to the pride of their doting father, Raj Kumar, 45, who also has five daughters.
Doctors believe it's possible to separate the twins - but there will be drastic consequences for Shivanath, who appears to be the weaker of the two twins. Shivram would likely keep both legs and could start living a more normal life while Shivanath would be left with no legs and needing full-time care.

Hence the twins and their father are adamant they will not be parted. Their father said:
‘For everyone it is good fun to watch my children, but only I understand all the problems they have. During rainy season it becomes difficult for them to walk and when one wants to sit the other has to lie down.
But they don't fight. They have similar opinions and if one says he wants to play the other one agrees. God has created them like this so they have to walk like they do. They will remain like this. I don't want anything else. Even if doctors say so, I won't get my children separated. I have no interest in money. I'm the one who will work hard to nourish them. I don't need any help.’
Shivram also said:
‘We don't wish to get separated. We will stay like this even when we grow old. We want to live as we are.
3844  Forum / The Buzz Central / Laide Bakare’s husband drags EFCC to court, says he is a victim of blackmail on: 10-04-2014 03:07 PM
Alhaji Mutairu Babatunde Oriowo, husband of Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, has debunked the fraud and theft story against him occasioned through a declaration by the EFCC and published recently in a national daily. The businessman, who is the CEO of Primavera Construction & Engineering Ltd, added that, contrary to EFCC’s statement declaring him wanted, he is not on the run because he has not committed any offence to warrant running away from his fatherland.

The businessman said that he was miffed by the EFCC declaration because he could not understand what the interest of EFCC was, as no court of law has indicted him for any offence and no warrant of arrest has ever been issued on him.

Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, has also said that she is standing by her husband on the matter, believing that the EFCC publication was meant to destroy his hard-earned reputation as a philanthropist who derives joy in helping people, adding that the story was also a calculated attempt to smear her own name as a celebrity.

According to Mr. Orilowo, the EFCC and MTN were only out to blackmail him because the court case he instituted against EFCC, seeking an injunction to restrain the agency from arresting him or declaring him wanted, will be determine on the 28th of March 2014. Yet he was declared wanted on no basis many weeks before the hearing date.

LAIDE BAKARE AND HUSBAND Explaining the issue further, Mr. Orilowo said that “there was this MTN Cooperative whose membership is of MTN workers. Their union came together with this idea of a project called ‘Y’ello Estate’ to be built at Okun Ajah. That is my home town and where I do most of my businesses. So, based on my popularity and as a philanthropist who commands respect in the area, my company, Primavera Engineering & Construction Limited, was approached by MTN to help buy five hectares of land, which we did. Later, they came to us again and said oh, there are more demands, get us five hectares more. We did. The subscribers now became much interested in the project because they were going to make it the best of such Estates in Lagos”.

“We had an agreement from the beginning because they trusted us to deliver. The agreement was for me to; one, buy the lands; two, to ensure that the lands acquired were validly documented, and three, to be the sole developer of the Estate”.

“But some powerful people at MTN then came in after the agreement with the aim to hijack it. They saw the project as a laudable one and they were shocked that I was the only man handling the project. They came with an excuse that many people were bidding for it and it should not be a one-man thing. But I have spent close to one billion naira on this project. The agreement was for me to collect from MTN 20 percent of the money for mobilization and then go ahead to complete it with my personal money. And I have spent a lot on it. You know how big a project like an Estate can be; talk of roads, bridges and other amenities”.

“So, since the MTN had decided to bring in another developer and my company has committed so much into executing the project, I asked that the money I have spent so far be refunded. But when they were not forthcoming, I took the MTN Cooperative to court seeking to retrieve my money. We got judgment from Hon. Justice Olateru-Olagbegi. We then had negotiations with MTN based on the court judgment. Under the terms of settlement, MTN was to pay us substantial sums of money”.

“But MTN still refused to pay us, so we commenced third-party involvement proceedings against MTN which resulted in the issuance of an order freezing the bank accounts of MTN. While we await action on our money, MTN went to EFCC to lodge criminal complaints against us, alleging theft of money without disclosing the court proceedings on the issue. This was after the EFCC, on its own, had gone to court to institute criminal proceedings against us based on MTN’s complaints, which is still pending before the court”.

3846  Forum / Politics / UPDATE: My Secret Meeting With Jonathan ––Fani-Kayode on: 10-04-2014 10:31 AM
A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, says his closed-door meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday has earned him insults.

Fani-Kayode, an ardent critic of the President, laments on Wednesday, that what transpired at the meeting had been the subject of so much "online speculation". Writing on his Facebook page, he insists that he has a right to pay a courtesy visit to Jonathan, just as governors who belong to the opposition APC do.

Reacting to the Muslim/Muslim presidential ticket saga in APC, Fani-Kayode said:
“What I have said is very simple and clear. I will say nothing until I am ready. Let those that are insulting me and making assumptions continue to do so. That, in itself, tells me a lot.”
He added that he aligns himself with the opinion of one of his friends, Biodun Ishola-Ladepo, who he quotes as saying, “If I were Femi Fani-Kayode and my party planned to field a Muslim/Muslim presidential ticket, especially in the age of Boko Haram, I would bolt faster than Hussein Bolt.”

Fani-Kayode says he is glad that “someone is seeing things clearly”, adding that he wants the leadership of the party to break its “silence” on the issue.
“This is not about leaving parties but about principle. Let us hope that the leadership of the APC sees it fit to clarify this matter at the soonest and assure us all that they will do no such thing. Their silence on the matter and their refusal to rule it out is simply fuelling more speculation and dissent from within,” he adds.

Meanwhile, Fani-Kayode continue to receive criticisms as a result of his comments at the Presidential Villa.

Luckily for him, he has Nadia Buari in his life who has served as a bedrock to lean on and as he continues to mourn his mother, Nadia sent him this simple message to keep him strong and feel loved:

“Kisses to you my boo. Keep strong as I stand with you through this trying time!”
3848  Forum / The Buzz Central / Wow! Afrocandy is Begging for Funds Online to Send her Daughter to College on: 9-04-2014 03:19 PM
Late last month, Afrocandy had shared on her Facebook page news that her first daughter had been accepted into a university. But right now, Afrocandy is saying she has no money to foot the bills. Cos according to her, she (Afrocandy) had invested all her money in making her soft porn movie "Destructive Instinct", with the hope she would get a huge turnover before her daughter's time for college.
Unfortunately, she was messed up by the partners she trusted. Movie was released since January, up until now, not even a dime from her distributors.

Here's what Afrocandy wrote on her Fundraising page. Some people think she's trying to turn to scam now that her soft porn movie didn't sell.
“I am a single mother of 2 well behaved, intelligent, smart girls. Moved from Africa in 2005 to join their father who abandoned us after one year of living together. Since then
I've been struggling on my own without support from any particular person except some friends that help out sometimes.
I am not on welfare, don't get child support and not on unemployment. I'm highly talented, I write songs and scripts, edit, produce and even direct. All I need is an opportunity to be discovered.

I've done so many different jobs to sustain us but no matter what I do, it seems like I haven't even started. So I went back into showbiz which is what I was doing b4 I migrated, acted and produced my own movie, after investing all my money with the hope I could get a turn over before my first daughter's time for college, I was messed up by the partners I trusted. Movie was released since January, up until now, not even a dime from the distributors I handed over in Africa.
Now my daughter has been accepted into college, I am going crazy trying to fit the bills, rent, tuition and all other expenses. Please help me now that I am still alive before I lose it.
Thank you and God bless you.”

3849  Forum / Politics / Stop Embarrassing The Emirate: Emir Ado Bayero Tells Sanusi Lamido Sanusi on: 9-04-2014 02:59 PM
More troubles mount for suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the Kano Emirate sends emissaries to the presidency disassociating itself from recent comments credited to the ousted CBN Governor disparaging the Nigerian government, the Presidency and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Pointblanknews.com reports. The medium authoritatively reports that reacting to bitter complaints from the Presidency over Sanusi Lamido’s attacks and disregard to Federal authorities, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Abdullahi Bayero personally chided Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, urging him to, “shut up and stop embarrassing the Kano Emirate.”
A reliable source from Kano Emirate Council told us that Emir Ado Bayero has continued to express concern over Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s actions and utterances since he was suspended as CBN Governor. “In fact, I must tell you that His Highness, Alhaji Ado Bayero is upset over recent comments credited to Majen Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. The entire Kano Emirate is also not happy with the way our son and a Prince of this Kingdom is going about making unguided statements. It does not say well of the good image and hard-earned integrity of the Kano Emirate. The Emir and the Emirate Council feel very embarrassed over Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s recent actions and we have ordered him to tread with caution,” a highly placed Chief in Kano Emirate Council told the website.
Already, the Emirate Council has sent a delegation to the Presidency with a mandate to apologize to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan over recent comments and actions of the suspended CBN Governor. The high-power delegation led by Dan Massanin Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule and made up of respected elders, members of the Kano Ruling House and representatives of the Emirate were mandated to apologize to President Jonathan on behalf of the Kano people and the Emirate Council. Even among residents and indigenes of the ancient commercial city, many have expressed surprise that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who is a front-line contender of Ado Bayero’s seat could take actions capable of putting to question the integrity and honour of Kano Emirate Council.
Malam Abdullahi Ibrahim Doguwa, a political analyst described Lamido Sanusi Lamido as a hero who shot himself on the arm, “when he assumed office as CBN Governor, he exhibited characters that made us proud. We were really proud of him; but he dug his own grave when he missed up his assignment as CBN Governor with politics and political agenda. “Sanusi Lamido Sanusi offered himself to be used and dumped by desperate politicians who exploited his ‘busy body’ and loquaciousness to achieve their selfish agenda; while watching in laughter as the Kano prince crashed his own career and integrity in such a tragic way. As it is now, he is on the verge of losing everything as his shameful outing at the CBN has seriously damaged his chances of becoming the Emir of Kano—a dream that is so dear to him.”
Most residents are also frowning at recent romance between embattled Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and Kano state Governor, Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso as they remind the Governor of the Sanusi of the early years of 2000 when Kwankwaso as Kano state Governor (during his first term) threatened to withdraw government’s patronage of UBA if Sanusi was not sacked by the
bank.
It would be  recalled that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, a staff of UBA, at that time, in his characteristic mannerism, unwholesomely attacked Kwankwaso’s government leveling allegations of misgovernance and financial misconduct.
Alhaji Khalid Inuwa, a Kwankwasiyya movement adherent, urged Governor Kwankwaso to be wary of Lamido Sanusi Lamido because, “once beaten, twice shy; we cannot forget in a hurry, how Sanusi Lamido Sanusi tried in vein to smear the name and image of His Excellency, Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso. I believe Governor Kwankwaso should be very careful with Sanusi Lamido because he is not trust worthy.”
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi And Emir Ado Bayero’s Seat
It would be recalled that in July 2012 when Emir Ado Bayero returned from London, the Emir expressed his anger with a number of Chiefs in his Emirate who were accused of collecting “gifts” from Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to influence his ambition of succeeding Ado Bayero upon his death. It was reported that the Emir’s trip to London generated a lot of rumours with divided speculations of the Emir’s health condition. While many believed that Emir Bayero was in coma, others had believed that the Kano Royal Father had died in a London hospital. However, the Emir’s surprised return to Kano dispelled all the rumours as thousands of his supporters and Palace Guards welcomed him amidts fanfare. The Royal Father, in a long convoy, moved round from Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) to his Palace. Then, there was serious power play within the Kano Emirate.
It was  also learnt that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who was installed as Majen Kano by Emir Bayero was desperately interested to become the next Emir of Kano. It was learnt from a reliable source that Sanusi Lamido, in a bid to actualize his dream, doled out billions of Naira (illegally remitted from CBN coffers) to king makers so as to protect his interest and appoint him Ado Bayero’s successor. In fact, a source revealed that each of those that matters within the Emirate Council received a “gift” of N1 billion as an inducement to pursue and protect the embattled banker’s interest.
It was gathered that Sanusi’s desperation to become the Emir of Kano made him to secretly apologize to Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso who would have been a stumbling block to his ambition. This medium recalls that Kwankwaso and Sanusi Lamido Sanusi were at daggers drawn during the former’s first-term as Governor of Kano state. At that time, the CBN governor, reputed for his radical criticism of Kwankwaso’s policy incurred the wrath of Governor Kwankwaso who had sworn to frustrate all his interest. Meanwhile, social critics and watchers of the unfolding scenario at Kano Emirate Council are of the view that the trouble of Emir Bayero’s successor remains a time-bomb capable of wreaking havoc upon explosion.
However, the question remains, is Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s desperation to climb the Kano’s traditional stool a move to restore the integrity of his grandfather, Emir Sanusi who was dethroned and banished from the Kano emirate several years ago, or a burning desire to serve Kano and its people? But with the current ropes of corruption and irresponsibility entangling Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s tin neck, his dream of becoming the Emir of Kano is realistically far-fetched
3850  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Ebola Outbreak On The Rise: 6 Steps To Be Protected on: 9-04-2014 02:36 PM
The Ebola virus outbreak is on the rise in Africa. On Sunday, after the number of dead topped 90 and Mali and Ghana recorded their first suspected cases of the disease, trouble began in remote villages.  A mob attacked an Ebola treatment center in Guinea, accusing it of infecting the town with disease, according to Reuters. In other villages, people stopped shaking hands. See this Washingtonpost article for more information.

Although blood tests have shown that a 12-year-old girl in Ghana who died of viral fever with bleeding did not have Ebola, everyone is encouraged to take proper precautions to protect themselves.  Please take the following precautions:
-         Wash your hands frequently.
-        Get a Dettol hand sanitizer for people to use in your office and homes and let them know why.
-        Get one hand sanitizer for your children to use in school frequently, and if possible, one for their class. Let them know why.
-        Be careful with hand railings, doors and other utilities used by the public.
-        Avoid bush meat or meat of which you are not sure of its source.
-        Lastly, watch out for people with flu-like symptoms such as fever, myalgia (muscle pains) and malaise (general feeling of being unwell).

Please note that the virus has no cure!
3851  Forum / Sports / Cazorla admits he might leave Arsenal if trophy drought continues on: 9-04-2014 02:29 PM
Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla, has admitted that he might leave the club when his contract ends, if their trophy drought continues.

In a new interview with Sport 360, the 29-year-old playmaker also said his team-mates lack a winning mentality and pleaded with manager Arsene Wenger to sign new players this summer.

With Arsenal hoping to take a step closer to the first piece of silverware in nine years when facing Wigan in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, the midfielder said: “I want titles and that is why I came to Arsenal.

“Every player wants to win titles. We’ve gone many years without winning one. And if not, what I’ll look for in my next destination is to have the chance to win.

“I don’t want to close doors but I’ve a contract with Arsenal for three more seasons. When I’m turning 31 I’ll evaluate myself and I’ll choose the best option. In which case, I would be delighted to come back [to Spain].

“We’ve been unlucky in several games. We had a lot of chances to win against Manchester United and there was Ozil’s penalty [against Bayern].

“We couldn’t recover after going out against Bayern in the Champions League. And the defeat against Stoke finished us. You can’t lose against Stoke if you aspire to be the next champion.

“We haven’t got a winning mentality and we have to believe in ourselves [more]. Sometimes you can get used to not fighting but we can’t do that. Arsenal is and will always be a historic football club, we have to look forward. Arsenal has everything to win — history, infrastructure, an incredible stadium and great players.

“But we have to improve at crucial moments and sign the best football players because if you don’t do that, you may lag behind others.

“That is what makes it different at other clubs. You’ve a good example in Manchester City, who signed Fernandinho, [Alvaro] Negredo… or even Manchester United with [Robin] Van Persie and [Juan] Mata. Arsenal know what they need next season but it’s almost impossible to win a title if we haven’t got these kind of things.”

Cazorla joined the Gunners from Malaga in 2012 and has three years left on his deal.

Not sure a selfie would be a good idea after a cold defeat, who would pose for such? Okay, it's pretty alright to pose as long as the picture doesn't appear on social media/their angry fans don't see it.

Brazilian/Chelsea defender, David Luiz posted this pic of him and his team-mates; Samuel Eto'o and Willian in a happy mood after yesterday's victory over PSG. "God is great! Tk u everyone." He added.[/img]
