Delta State has been under siege of Exam fraudsters, who also operate various miracle centres where unsuspecting SSCE students are wooed into writing their examination under fraudulent supervision to make the best results.
The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education in the state, Dr Tony Nwaka, warned that the days of fraudsters were limited in the state, adding that the arrest of the suspects was made possible largely as a result of information gotten on their illicit activities.
Nwaka further said that the government of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan will ensure that the monitoring of examination in the State is given adequate attention, adding that the State intend to achieve the dream of conducting examinations that are free of irregularities.
According to the commissioner, all those apprehended will be handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
Nwaka urged those monitoring examination in the state to put more effort in their duty by discovering new ways of combating emerging techniques of perpetuating examination malpractice and miracle centres. He also appealed to stakeholders to ensure that success is achieved in the fight against examinations.
Reporters gathered that operators of miracle centres in the state woo SSCE students with the promise of ensuring that they pass their examination in flying colours if they enroll in their schools.
