
In a significant breakthrough, operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command have arrested Ikechukwu Didi, a suspected gun-runner, and seized a substantial cache of firearms and ammunition. The arrest followed a meticulously planned operation based on credible intelligence.
According to Josephine Adeh, the command's spokesperson, the operation took place on June 7, 2024, around 2 PM. Didi, 54, was apprehended at Dutse Junction, FCT. The police recovered seven automatic pump-action guns and 1,000 live cartridges from his possession.
Adeh shared details of the arrest on her X handle, emphasizing the suspect's confession to the crime. "The suspect has confessed to the crime and will be charged to court soon," she wrote.
The arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of the FCT Command to combat illegal arms trade and enhance security within the region. The police have assured the public that further investigations are underway to dismantle the gun-running network and bring all involved parties to justice.
