While millions of Chelsea supporters all over the world are in triumphant mood over their team’s defeat of FC Barcelona, one of Blues’ fans in Enugu, Eastern part of Nigeria did not live to see the final outcome of the match.

Reports from Enugu say he slumped and died on Tuesday immediately Barcelona scored their first goal against Chelsea in the decisive UEFA Champions League semi final at Nou Camp.

The teenage twin boy, identified as Chinedu Ibeabuchi, slumped in a football viewing centre when Barcelona scored their opening goal in the drawn semi-final match.

Chinedu, who lived with his mother and other family members on Marcus Garvey Street, New Haven, Enugu, was said to be a student of a secondary school in Enugu.

A lady who identified herself as a sister to the deceased, said the family was not willing to talk about the incident but was rather concerned with his burial arrangements.

A source close to the family told NAN on Wednesday that Ibeabuchi was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead.

NAN also learnt that the corpse had been deposited at the Eastern Nigeria Medical Centre, Enugu.

It was gathered that the Ibeabuchi family lost their father sometime in 2011.

The match ended 2-2 at full-time with Chelsea advancing to the final on a 3-2 aggregate.
