A 98-year-old, Pa Oluwafemi Fagbemi, was on Wednesday paraded by the Osun Police Command for alleged involvement in the killing of 21-year-old Jacob Ajayi, for ritual purpose.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mrs. Kalafite Adeyemi, who addressed a news conference at the police headquarters, Oke-Fia, said Ajayi’s head and genitals were severed after he was killed in Ilesa on April 14, 2012.

The nonagenarian said his son, Sunday Fagbemi, killed Ajayi, who had approached him (Sunday) for money ritual.

A friend to the deceased, Tobi Ojo (20), said he and Ajayi had approached Sunday for money-making ritual.

Ojo said, “We approached Sunday to perform a ritual that would make us rich. But Sunday said I was not destined to make money through ritual.

“He told me to go home and that my friend should stay back. My friend stayed back on Friday and when I came back on Sunday, I perceived an offensive odour in the compound.

“I told Baba (Oluwafemi) that something was smelling in the compound. We both went round the compound and discovered that the odour was coming out of a septic drainage.

“The parents of Ajayi went to lodge a complaint at the police station and the police arrested me and I narrated how Ajayi and I went to Sunday.

“Ajayi’s corpse was recovered from the underground drainage. His head and genitals had been severed.”

Another suspect arrested in connection with the murder, Femi Famuyiwa (26), said there appeared to be collusion between Oluwafemi and his son over the case.

He said, “I used to frequent the residence where Baba serves as a guard. Sunday said I was not secretive; that I talk too much. He left Baba’s residence after collecting N2, 000 realised when we sold Baba’s goat.

“Baba and his son were communicating and Baba will later pretend as if the phone network was bad. He would claim not to hear what his son, who was on the line, was saying – after ending the calls.”

An herbalist, Sunday Ibironke, said the two friends – Ojo and Ajayi – had approached him for money-making rituals in May 2011 and he directed them to a palmist.

A football coach, Tope Olatunji, said Ojo and Ajayi were footballers training under him, adding that both confided him about their desire to engage in money-making rituals.

“They saw some incisions on one of my footballers and they told me that they were interested in money-making rituals, I told them to approach the guy with the incisions,” he said.

May GOD forgive you too for your unnecessary tribalistic comment. That was last year. This is a new year and new beginning. And mind you both Igbo and Yoruba were tribally tagged

Why don’t you post something and headline or caption it ethnically if that’s what you want instead of whining like a baby that needs a pacifier….
I commented on your post (http://www.gistmania.com/talk/topic,140086.20.html) in it you could not even say RIP to the little one that was murdered by his father….you were only concerned about tribal thing and I advised you to search for “Yoruba” or any ethnic on this site and get your desired results…
..tribalism will not get you anywhere… and stop Nitpicking
