the traders taking cognizane of the spate of bombings across the Country pounced on the alleged bomber after suspecting his movement. He said, the suspect in a telephone conversation was heard alerting another person that "action was on hold because the Market was yet to be filled up".
The Source also explained that on hearing this, the trader who stood behind the suspect as he was making the call immediately alerted others who swooped on him and search the bag he was carrying only to discover Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) neatly arranged in the bag. They immediately raised alarm, apprehended the man before he could escape and handed him over to the Police.
However, Spokesman of the Edo State Police Command, ASP Etim Bassey couldn't be reached for comments as he said to be attending to other pressing official issues.
The popular Jattu Market is situated along Benin Auchi Road in Etsako West Local Governement area, Edo State, a stone throw away from Auchi main town.
The Market is usually held every eight days with over 8,000 traders from all parts of the Country coming to display their wares.
