Two captains cannot be in one ship so, if you marry a moslem man and you are a christian, hmmmm ,ake i reserve d comment but..... think twise God is God and not a fighter.

It depends on where you are and which Christian denomination or Muslim fraternity—I avoid “sect” which may not be a proper term—you belong to. The Roman Catholic Church does bless marriages between a catholic and someone from another religion/denomination, but strongly encourages the children to be raised as catholics. The marriage of Joseph Kabila of D R Congo, a non-catholic, to his wife, a catholic, was solemnized by the archbishop of Kinshasa, the late Frédéric Cardinal Etsou. Other prominent personalities also involved in Christian-muslim marriages are: former Senegalese President, Abdou Diouf, a muslim, married to a Christian; current Ivorian first lady, a Roman catholic, married to President Alassane Ouattara, a muslim. Among ordinary citizens in predominantly catholic D R Congo, cases of inter-religious marriages abound. I met a couple in South Africa that was “half-muslim, hald Christian”. In fact, the husband, raised as a muslim, converted to Catholicism because that was the precondition imposed by the in-laws. Only a few years after, he went back to his muslim faith, without much fuss on either side. Few people are aware of his muslim status because he attends church with his family whenever he can: the wife and all the children are catholic. This is not a joke: on holiday in Singapore last year, he also attended church with us. Lastly, a couple in the Sultanate of Oman, a muslim country, was also “half-muslim, half-christian”. The wife, of Kenyan nationality, was catholic, whereas the husband and all the children were muslims. This, obviously, wouldn’t happen in more “fundamentalist” countries! Whoever would ike to tie the knots with someone from a different religion should consult her/his own religious hierarchies and encourage her/his partner to do the same.
