Week 16

C.O.D United vs. Bayelsa
Abia Warriors vs. Crown
Insurance vs. Gateway
Ajiroba vs. Bridge Boys
Ila BYE

1. Bayelsa United

Currently the top dogs in the Division on twenty-six points, nine points ahead of C.O.D United, with three games to go(One home game and two away games) and an healthy goal difference. The leaders' home game though is against second placed Bridge Boys and unless something unexpected happens Bayelsa United seems faraway at the moment but things could still change with a C.O.D United victory at Crown.

2. Bridge Boys

C.O.D United should comfortably finish ahead of arch rivals Bridge Boys who has only two away games till the end of the season though still four points ahead on twenty-one points.

3. Abia Warriors

The Umuahia-based team are the third placed team on the table by virtue of goal difference but are better placed than Bridge Boys with only two home games to play overall before the end of the season. They are however not in action this weekend which gives C.O.D United the opportunity to close to within one point with an away win in Ilorin against Crown with both teams having the luxury of two home games in the last two Matchdays.

4. Gateway

In fourth place on the log with just three points ahead of C.O.D United by virtue of the two-nil win enjoyed at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium Abeokuta the last Matchday but with an home game against table toppers Bayelsa United and two away games until the end of the season C.O.D United should finish above Gateway.

5. Crown

The Ogbomosho side are just a place above C.O.D United on goal difference with the two teams deadlocked on seventeen points which makes the clash between the two teams this weekend the more exciting. Crown also has identical fixtures of two home games and an away game before the end of the season.

6. C.O.D United

Mathematically can still finish in first place provided Bayelsa United presently occupying the position put together a three-game losing run.

7. Insurance

Kudos to the team for recovering from a disastrous start to the season but they are too faraway from the challengers in the division. They are two points adrift of C.O.D United with two home games and an away game to go until the end of the season and finishing above C.O.D United could be a little far-fetched for Insurance.

8. Ila

It has been erratic campaign for the team under former Shooting Stars Striker Edith Agoye with the team losing points freely at home. Presently on fourteen points with a game each at home and abroad to play until the end of the season certainly the team will need a miracle to survive Relegation.

9. Ajiroba

Occupying the last spot albeit on goal difference too many draws on home soil has been the team's greatest undoing this season. With an home game and two away games the team has to pull off an away win to stand any chance of avoiding relegation.

It promises to be a nail-biting end to the season with teams battling for Promotion to the Nigeria Premier League and to avoid Relegation from the Division. The fever pitch ending should be interesting at least for the neutrals.
