It is just unfortunate that we live a nation where things do not go straight at all. If not, why would the government at levels abandon their responsibilities to provide qualitative education to the citizens and allow some individuals feed fat on us? Look at ti from Nursery/Primary to Secondary and then to University - all Government Institutions are now a shadow of what they should be hence the private initiatives who try to cash in on the gap created by the neglect of our "so called leaders" It is however more worrisome when Churches will levy their members in whatever form and use such levies to build a school only to price the children of most of the donors out of such institutions. Someone just mentioned that they use their personal money. Personal what? Then EFCC or better still Private Investigators should be invited to unearth the sources of their wealth. At least we kn how of someone who was said to be bankrupt before May 1999 and yet by 2007 had become a proud owner of a University and he was working for government all the period. The question is, what was the total emolument all the period to have yielded so much to set up a university? The more you look the less you see! One day one day; "It will please the Lord to return us from this captivity", it shall be like a dream to us. Very soon God will wipe away the Corrupt elements among us - Nigeria shall be Great Again!

Not True at all, The highest tuition paid in Covenant University is 511k and that's for Engineering only... Some courses pay as low as 350k and I'm sure it's the same for the other universities you mentioned. I advise you get your facts rights before making yourself look foolish.

Blackman, wake up from your slumber. Stop worshipping these so called "men of God". They do not have any trait of Christ. They are all CAPITALIST in nature. Christ never lived in opulence. He left his comfort zone to save mankind. How many of these RIPPERS of the downtrodden can make sacrifices to save humanity? Given a chance, most of these present crops of "men of God" will want to bribe God in order for them to live on this earth forever as they want to enjoy maximally their stolen wealth  from their ignorant followers. The rest of the world is miles ahead of us in every facet, yet we still rely only on miracles for things to happen. Blackman, wake up and ponder a bit ... if all the hours spent attending all these NIGHT VIGILS, 7 DAYS CRUSADE, MID-DAY WORSHIP and so on is channelled towards meaningful engagement of our limited time on earth. I wonder where Nigeria will be by now. We are ready to make use of the technology the WEST is inventing everyday but we are not ready to engage ourselves in any meaningful venture. We are all waiting for the "men of God" to perform their abracadabra miracles so that we can live on. Blackman, wake up!!!

REASONS FOR THAT

Fellows, we should call a spade a spade and tell our selfs the truth, we are know that this varsities were build from church money tithes and offering of their followers. but is very bad to hear those outrageous amount of money collected as fee by this school, well i must say that this group of people are scammers are looters that extol from their followers in the name of God, they wont say they dont know the meaning of missionary, or how is been run, because most of them attended it, come to the western world, missionary school are the cheapest collages here,  why because (1) those who attend want to learn more about the gospel and this is the pride of every good christian church, getting people to learn about the gospel, (2) Such schools are mend for the poor and less privilege in the society.
this so called versities are not suppose to be any were above 50 - 70k, Our pastors need to go out, come to U.S, Europe and Asia to see what is called missionary, when missionaries came into africa, they came with foods, clothes, schools, clinics and so on, all for free. but our so called pastors will cant give u a daim, but their hands are always open to collect from u

mr poster, u r fool for doing this........go back to sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah you can say that but the truth should be told sometimes, what he posted is nothing but the truth, common lets face the truth here tho universities especially the one own by churches should be the most cheapest and affordable institutes in our country but it just the opposite. Tell me how many of the low privilege parents attending those churches can afford to send their children to any of the universities? Am sure the answer is none, so deceiving ourselves lets call a spade a spade, i respect any man of God be it a pastor or prophet but i hate when even a pastor can think this way, their fee is much more higher than the ordinary and they preach to us seek first the kingdom of God? Hmm indeed, even Jesus said give all that you have to the person who doesn't have can we find such a pastor like Jesus among any of these school building and plane buyer and estate building pastors??? No because everything they created is in form of business and even damn expensive than usual why? We say Nigerian is bad and people are suffering, there are many people who contribute to the situation of our country today not just the our government. Sorry to write this much but it hurts when i see such this happens, am sure someday a true savior of Nigeria will rise.  God bless Nigeria

Please do not assault our collective sensibility, with your claim. Where does the chancellor got his personal money from? aside from the various contributions, the church collected from the endless program mes they organized. I guess your age will not permit you to know, how early missionaries educated most of these chancellors for almost nothing. Why are they adding heavy yoke on their members, as if being a member of a church requires loads of money. If it is about money, i think many of our pentecostal pastors should have a rethink. They should impact their environment better. Everything is about them and their family alone, Christ told His disciples, that whoever wants to be masters must first served and in retrospect he too will be served.   They should have compassion for the poor and those not very rich. Ironically, many of the pastors find it difficult to give while they preached giving. Many of them are Oliver twist, always asking their members to give money and their substances, at the end of the day,  the pastors will claim everybody commonwealth for themselves and their family alone. Your chancellor would have built both the church and the university long before he did, if he had such money way back. Please do not be fooled, their wealth came from the collective contribution of the people God put under their care. God himself will judge them on how they have utilized all he put in their care. I wish they will not be too proud to forget how they were before God raised them.

Is quite Unfair that our Missionary Universities are only for the rich masses and not for the poor. Everything in Nigeria is upside down, some churches in Nigeria has become the best place to make money. No Pastor wants to be a poor man... A homeboy like me hustling abroad to make money, a pastor at home also hustling to make money in his own way. Well that's their own format sha. The only true men of God are the ones helping the less privilege, like Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka of Enugu, not like all these modern churches claiming to be holy while there is no atom of holiness in them. I pity those who worship Pastors and Revs. May God help us all.

It is unbelievable, the level of ignorance that has rob the heart of those followers of  pastors and bishops instead of our lord JESUS CHRIST.the brain linking fellow who was talking about the up keeping of the school should remember that the congregation who could build, could also take charge of the bills.no doubt that a lot of pastors are posing as a sign board that we hope will lead it congregation to heaven while they could be rest assured that their dwelling place will be hell.

It is time we move up from divine frustration......may God help NIG.
