For me it is good to recognize excellence. My only addition is that it should be done for others also when they make marks. It presents to the rest of the world that we care about our own people and rejoice in their joys just as we grieve with them when they encounter failures. Reply

Stupid sets of people, though honoring Mikel is my man but honoring him bcos of cup that was won by an english team and the money is going for england not nigeria is a waste of money. Those stupid fools in national assembly, what have they done to improve nigeria local leagues and our local clubs. Our academies.I was once a member of N:F:A Under 14 team academy and nothing was done to keep the project going.you cannot even find enough balls for training then.Mikel excelled through Pepsi academy which was owned by cooperate organization and nigeria cannot even maintain there own national academy. They hve to do more to improve our local leagues and take sports to grassroots and rural areas morons. Quote from: Doncas on 12-06-2012 04:05 PM Yeah good move. hard work comes with a reward. In the history of football has any Nigerian player win the champions league? it will continue like this. if any other player from naija win any trophy in Europe he will be honored too. it will encourage our young players to work more and make a very wise decision when signing for a club in Europe. but our Nigerian premier league winners should be honored too when the league is over. Arsenal 4 live. Mikel made us proud in Europe. Guy,if may ask, when did u start watching football for asking that question.Kanu ,Finidi and Tijani hve all won champions league with Ajax.Yes Mikel made us proud, but if u ask Mikel himself,he will prefer the national assembly to do more to improve our local league and encourage our grassroots football and other sports,I played a clip of our local league to one of my team mate and he was asking if it was a secondary school competition or national league. the problem with u Nigerians is you don't appreciate good good things. When Obasanjo was your president you complained and lamented he is not a good leader, now you face the worst president of all time who could not give order to anyone enjoy it while it last. Arsenal 4 life.

National assembly should address the issue of upgrading our Nigeria league so that the oyinbos too will still be watching our league....Why e be say na foreign things we dey like?...That metality is not good, they should invest more money on our national league instead of celebrating foreign league...wise up naija..!!! U people are useless, of all the problems in the country to honour Mikel is the next thing to do? What is funny about Chelsea? U people cannot do something to bring Super Eagle back to its glory. Hunger is everywhere in the country, no electricity, bad road, Lagos Ibadan express way turn to death trap everyday, nothing to do about that. Revolution will surely happen in Nigeria one day, all of you will be consume. Reply
