Benue State Government has discovered that N72 million  was  paid for the construction of a fruit juice industry in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of the state, 20 years ago, but work on the project had been abandoned.

This was realised yesterday when the Benue Economic Team went on inspection tour to the abandoned industrial projects in Zone A, senatorial district of the state.

The team inspected the fruit juice industry at Katsina-Ala , Lobi Cassava Mills in Buruku, Tomato Puree Industry Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area, to discover the immediate and remote causes of the abandonment of work on the projects.

LEADERSHIP recalls that the state Economic Team led by its Deputy Chairman, Mrs. Dorcas Ukpe had, a month ago, visited the Igumale Cement Factory in Ado Local Government Area, Otukpo Burnt Bricks in Otukpo and the Taraku Mills in Gwer Local Government Area to find out the impediments surrounding the actualisation of the defunct industries.
