   Everyone is free to serve what ever deity they chose to.

   I just like to say, serving or worshiping will always make you less tha the deity. Most religious books don't allow the worshipers rooms to search for knowledge out of the fear that they would realize the truth

However I do not believe science to be the only guiding force but to call another person a “fool” just because they so happen not to believe in the existence of a “God” is over the top.

"fool" appears to be too blunt a word . Probably just a lack of awareness might be more appropriate as   lacking knowledge of something in particular doesn't  make one a general fool .  Nevertheless , the  knowledge ( or is it Fear )  of God is the beginning of all understanding/ widsom saith the psalmist .
