Terrorism: Police recovers Bombs,Charms and live amunitions in KOGI state.

Police in Kogi State on Monday said they recovered 35 bombs, 34 guns and ammunition from 13 hoodlums who had terrorised residents of the state.

This comes as the police in Borno State seized 15 guns during a routine operation on Gombe-Yobe road.

Speaking with reporters in Lokoja, Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Muhammed Katsina, said 19 bombs were recovered from 17 suspects arrested in parts of the state.

According to him, the police also recovered 11 cars, bullet-proof vests and charms from the suspects.

Katsina said they also arrested a middle-aged man with 16 Improvised Explosive Devices in another operation.

Apart from the IEDs, the CP said the police recovered army camouflage, charms and other items from the man who was arrested driving a Volkswagen car with number plate Lagos DV 353 LRS.

According to him,  four AK 47, one Mark 4, five  Pump Action rifles, 21 single-barrels and three pistols during various operations.

Katsina, while parading the suspects, said they also include those arrested in connection with attacks  on a police station and a bank in Iyara on July 20.

He said they were arrested at different locations in the Kogi Central area of the state.

Among the suspects were two taxi drivers, a shoemaker and a 48-year-old community health assistant.

Katsina said the shoemaker, well-known in Okene, had admitted killing one Police Sgt. Yisa,  in 2010.

Also paraded was one Abdullahi Kolawole alleged to have killed two policemen in Okene.

Meanwhile, a statement  by the Police Public Relations Officer in Borno, Fwaje Atajiri, said two suspects were arrested in Kaltungo Local Government.

It said six stolen computer laptops were also recovered in Gombe metropolis.

It added that two suspects were also arrested in connection with an attack on the Caretaker Chairman of Billiri Local Government Council, Mallam Adamu Sansani.
