The mother shoulda thought of that before she made such a stupid decision. Now it all comes down to telling the truth and moving forward to work on the relationship even if it takes counseling. Lying or hiding it will only make matters worse. Truth always comes out

The truth will eventually come out, so don't try and do anything foolish or cover it with lies. It only makes the matter much worser. One day the child will grow up and wanna know who her/hus dad is too anyway. Tell your daughter what happened, even if you want to adopt, tell her cuz the sooner the better. Her boyfriend seems to be a douchebag anyway to sleep with her mom. Every action has it's consequences so you'll have to deal with it, life will eventually go on
