Photojournalists protest attack on members

Following the attack on Benedict Uwalaka of Leadership Newspaper at Lasuth and photojournalists in Lagos,Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) in conjuction with photojournalists association of Nigeria (PJAN) organized a peaceful protest to the governor’s office this morning.
 The leaders of the journalist union said that their members have been under severe attacks in the cause of carrying out their legitimate duties. After Uwalaka’s attack,Tunde Ogundeji ex-photo editor of Compass Newspaper was also attacked by some irate mob at the Railway Line,Ikeja for daring to take photos of illegal train passengers.
 Photojournalists want Lagos Governor,Babatunde Raji Fashola to provide a conducive environment allowing journalists to perform their duties without being attacked in the state.
