The Central Bank of Nigeria has announced that it is going to introduce a N5,000 note into the system.

The faces of three prominent Nigerian female activists are to be used on the new note. They are those of late politician and social mobiliser, Margaret Ekpo (1914 – 2006); late politician and activist Hajia Gambo Sawaba (1933 – 2001) and late politician and women’s right activist Funmilayo Kuti (1900 -1978).

I salute these brave and dedicated women. I call them PATRIOTS.

It is just another way for these vultures to carry the looted cash around handily because they now toy with trillions. How many Nigerians would have access to 5,000 naira. None of these women would approve something like this. It is an insult to these women. This is their way of saying they are emulating them thinking perhaps the masses will be happy. They should stop stealing the money that's these go tell them from head to toe. Bunch of Barawos....This is not a priority of all things. They are all compound fools.

Mr. Poster adding the picture of CBN governor is disrespectful to these great women. It was an after-thought action on your part because his picture was not there when you uploaded the story. They should be honoured without compromise. It will be appropriate and ethical to remove his picture in my opinion. His picture can always be added separately via another post as a follow up. Don’t do things half-heartedly.

A Nepali man who was bitten by a cobra snake subsequently bit the snake to death, a local newspaper reported on Thursday (Aug. 23).

After being bitten by the snake, while he was working in his rice paddy on Tuesday, 55-year-old Mohamed Salmo Miya chased the snake, caught it and bit it until it died, the Annapurna Post reported, according to Reuters.

"I could have killed it with a stick but bit it with my teeth instead because I was angry," Miya was quoted as saying.

Miya, who lives in a village some 125 miles (200 kilometers) southeast of the Nepali capital of Kathmandu, was receiving treatment at a village health post at the time of the news report and was not in danger of dying from his snakebite. He will not be charged with killing the snake, a local police official said, because cobras (called "goman" in Nepal) are not listed as endangered in the country.

In short, a snake has died of manbite.

wat do we need 5000 naira note for? What happens to 5,10,20,50 naira which will be changed to coins? Soon it will be regarded as of no value. This is an unwelcome development. Bad leaders in NIGERIA
