Alhaja Obedatu Abudu Balogun, was abducted from her residence at Ita-Otu in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The kidnap came few days after a hotelier and a socialite was kidnapped in Ijebu-Ode area of the State and was later reportedly released after the payment of a ransom fee of N10million to his abductors.
Reacting to the kidnap of his mother, Honourable Balogun, who confirmed the kidnap, also described the incident as too painful to bear.
Balogun further stated that what himself and the entire members of the family needed was prayer as to how the woman would return safely.
Hon Abudu Balogun is the deputy chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Internal Security also said he had not being contacted on the term to get her mother released.
When contacted however, state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi said his command was yet to be informed about the kidnap.
Adejobi assured that the police would surely move into action immediately details about the kidnap were reported.
