Unidentified gunmen on Tuesday night burnt the residence of the village head, Hakimin Gwaje, Alhaji Mohd Salisu Auwal with two people alive in Potiskum town of Yobe state.
Daily Trust gathered that the gunmen raided the house located at Low Cost area in the middle of the night.
Some residents in area told our correspondent that the attackers tied the deceased up and threw them into the burning house.
Another resident who spoke in confidence said the attackers “Ransacked everywhere in the house, tie down the two people, suspected to be the biological sons of the village head inside the house and burnt them to ashes,” he said.
“It not easy to conclude that they were his sons because they are burnt beyond recognition,” he said.
He said that the village head is suspected to have left the town with other members of his family for safety reasons.
