The government of Akwa Ibom State has confirmed that Godswill Akpabio like his Rivers State counterpart, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, also owns a brand new jet.
Akpabio took possession of the $45 million jet in July 2012.
Responding to SaharaReporters inquiries, Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Ummanah, confirmed that Mr. Akpabio bought the Gulfstream jet manufactured in 2011, but insisted that that it is Akwa Ibom State property.

Am sure the new private jets were not part of the property they declared as part of their assets before they became governor. They must have been helping themselves.

He is just another criminal not a surprise… Some would support his extravagance simply because of ethnicity... Every governor is now buying a new jet.. Sooner or later the councillors will soon be flying in new jets.. Brand new airports will be built… and old ones refurbished……in order to accommodate these aeroplanes… this is taking place amidst poverty and hopelessness. The money could have been spent on the needy. These politicians have no morals… You will all be doomed.
The prime ministers of UK, Norway have no private jets, they all fly commercial planes including the king of Norway just to mention a few.
