The state police commissioner, Alhaji Abdullahi Magaji, who confirmed the arrest to newsmen on phone said the suspects were under police custody and are being interrogated.
Magaji however said only two persons were injured by the Yandaba during the attack, adding that the suspects would be arraigned as soon as police complete investigation.
The Kauraye had on Friday stormed Sabuwar Kasuwa quarters around Kofar Marusa and attacked residents of the area, resulting to injuring of about 10 residents.
Daily Trust gathered that victims of the attack are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre and Katsina general hospital respectively.
One of the victims, Babangida Salisu, who spoke to Daily Trust on his hospital bed at the federal medical centre, Katsina said the group stormed the area at about 8pm when most of the residents were preparing for the evening prayer (Isha’i).
Salisu, who sustained injuries on his head and hand, explained that “they came with dangerous weapons comprising cutlasses, swords and sticks and started beaten and stabbing people indiscriminately. Nobody knows who they were and what their mission was.”
