That River runs across the Enugu -Onitsha Expressway just before the permanent campus of Unizik.The Police is always there to stop every vehicle to demand all kinds papers.I can remember the Police once stopped me there in 2004,after going through the documents of my vehicle and seeing that the papers were in order,they asked me to provide the Importation Approval Certificate of the importer that brought my car into the country,Hmmmmm very funny because such a thing does not exist......in the end about 50 private vehicles,my own included were taken to the Police Station inside the town of Amawbia..........the idea is to waste your time till you decide to negotiate with them.I did and my vehicle was released to me.The point here is that the Police is always on this spot on the bridge on the River.....they are there morning evening and night,they even built a small tent there with rafters.....trusting Nigerian Police I will not be too surprised if they did some extra judicial killing on this spot and dumped the bodies in the River.
