some pple use it as a style inorder to tush their names coz some pple believe a direct name doesn't ve swag attached 2 it but matter u shouldn't say yoruba ve low self esteem bcos it include u as well,it is not d matter of low self esteem coz if it was den dey wont even know how 2 spell their name talkless of writing it d way dey like and besides how does dat affect u?instead of u 2 advice government on how 2 reduce poverty 4 nigeria,u r here talking about other pple business and wish,dey love their name spelt like dat,y wnt u respect their decision?

To me, this ma'am is simply making unguarded statements; maybe it's the OP's fault. How can someone generalise a whole tribe that way? To start with her, did she write her own name in such disgusting manner on Facebook? Is she not Yoruba now? A waste of time.

As much as I'm against the practice she opposes, I don't think it's a sign of low self-esteem. It is simply a sign of immaturity, no matter the age. My two kobo.
