Stephen Keshi has just announced that he handed over his resignation letter after the game exclusively on 083Sport@6With Marawa on MetroFM
Keshi claims that he was sacked prior to their quarterfinal clash against Ivory Coast, because apparently the Nigerian Football Federation booked a plane back to Nigeria as soon as they found out that they will play Ivory Coast. However, Keshi claimed on Metro FM that he heard about the arrangement made by the NFF after the Mali game, and that he did not want to take it to mind as it would have affected his teams preparations.
Keshi’s resignation letter still has to be discussed by the NFF, and the coach says he is unlikely to change his mind, because he believes that NFF did not trust and respect his tactics as a coach. The coach did tell Goal.com a few days before the final, that he would 'pack his bags and leave' if he felt he was not wanted, and it is a surprising turn of events after the coach was highly praised from all quarters.

Keshi just announced his resignation from the National team.
He was sacked during the group phase but stayed on to win the trophy... Return tickets were already booked because they thought the team would lose to the Ivorians.
Keshi found this out after the match according to Idah Peterside.
idah pee @IdahPeterside
Keshi only heard the NFF had given the secretary money for return tickets before Ivory cost game only after they won the game
THIS IS ONE PRINCIPAL SETBACK WE HAVE IN NIGERIA, AND THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN OUR PROBLEM. WE DO NOT APPRECIATE GOOD THINGS FROM OUR OWN CITIZENS. NOW, THE GAME IS OVER; BUT BASED ON SELFISHNESS AND JEALOUSY THEY HAVE STARTED CRITICIZING KESHI NECESSARILY INSTEAD OF THANKING HIM FOR HIS GOOD PROFESSIONALISM AND SKILLS. KESHI HAS DONE A VERY GREAT AND INCOMPARABLE JOB FOR HIS COUNTRY WHICH ALL OTHER COACHES MAY HAVE FAILED EVEN FOREIGN COACHES. THIS SHOWS THAT MOST OF OUR COACHES ARE EVEN FAR MORE COMPETENT THAN FOREIGN COACHES. FOREIGN COACHES ONLY COME TO TAKE OIL MONEY AND GO WITHOUT DOING NOTHING. BUT, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, KESHI SUCCEEDED IN THE EYES OF NIGERIANS, AFRICANS AND THE WORLD, AND PROVEN THAT WE CAN DO IT OURSELVES, THIS IS SOMETHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT. WHY CAN'T WE HIGHLY COMMEND KESHI AND RETAIN HIM IN CHARGE OF THE EAGLES FOR THIS GREAT JOB FOR HIS COUNTRY? WHAT MORE COULD NIGERIANS ASK? YOU GAVE SOMEONE A VERY DIFFICULT AND VERY CHALLENGING JOB, AND THEY DID THE JOB PERFECTLY TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, WHY CAN'T NNF SAY A GOOD JOB WELL DONE KESHI? NFF IS FULL OF HYPOCRITES AND SADDEST. KESHI DESIRES A HUGE CREDIT. THANK YOU UNCLE KESHI FOR MAKING OUR DREAM COME TRUE.
