The House of Representatives yesterday called on President Goodluck Jonathan to grant amnesty to members of Boko Haram sect without further delay in order to end the spate of violence in the country. Adopting a motion on matters of urgent national importance sponsored by Rep. Ibrahim Olaifa (AC, Oyo), MPs said the government and the nation have everything to gain when the violence is ended. In his motion, Rep. Olaifa argued that if the same government had given amnesty to Niger Delta militants there was no reason that it won’t extend same to Boko Haram members because they too are Nigerians who deserve to be treated as such. “We have continued to lose lives and property everyday but there is nothing to lose if we engage these people in dialogue and offer them amnesty. They are Nigerians and we know that poverty pushed some of them to engage in violence. We should turn them to peaceful human beings instead of treating them as goats. Nigeria has nothing to lose,” Olaifa said. The motion was not debated further but passed unanimously when the question was put to vote by Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who presided over the session. This man called olaife are you sure you're well at all? When last did you take malaria drugs or went to hospital for mental check up?... Well am not surprise he's from the land of cowards, This people called boko haram, are they to be granted amnesty base on WHAT? How could you compare this sect to Niger delta militants? Can you tell me the objectives, aims, targets and goal of this terrorists of muhammed if not to islamize the country, which is never a reason why they should pick up arms and terrorize us like muhammed did to his followers. At times i do wonder the type of myopic people this stupid and fake entity called nigeria have as leaders that can never differentiate their left from their right. Please you people should check the certificate of that man coz it my be fake!!

It is a shame that a man who said he is a rep...can not use his head to think.... How can any man in his right senses compare bokoharam and Niger Delta militant...
Militants are kidnapping and killing those making use of their natural inheritance without considering them the owners....now Mr rep...what is the boko killing Nigerians for? Do you really know the English translation of the word bokoharam? If you do...then you will be an IDIOT (cap letters to show the gravity and size of the idiot you are) to suggest amnesty.....i bet you just wanted to open your mouth at floor...to assume you are representing..,MTCHEEEEEW...

I don’t think Rep. Ibrahim Olaifa should be singled out when the whole PDP is campaigning for the same thing. Personally and definitely something has to be done to stop this violence…. We cannot afford to lose more lives.

Killing is killing you cannot justify killing for whatever reason except for self-defence.  In essence what you are saying is;  it is ok for MEND to kill… something is amiss here. Your post is biased.
The Assembly members want the Nigerian President to grant Boko Haram amnesty.
National Assembly members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from the North East of Nigeria have appealed to President Goodluck Jonathan to rescind his decision not to grant amnesty to members of the Boko Haram sect. They asked him to rescind the decision in order to protect the lives and property of people in the region.
The Deputy Senate Leader, Abdul Ningi, made the appeal when he spoke on behalf of the NASS members at the North East Zonal meeting with the National Chairman of the PDP in Bauchi…..http://premiumtimesng.com/regional/125628-pdp-lawmakers-seek-amnesty-for-boko-haram.html
