2 Terrorists Died As They Attempted To Detonate Bombs At JTF Checkpoint In Kano

Two terrorists died Saturday [Mar. 23] morning as they attempted to bomb a checkpoint manned by soldiers of the Joint Military Task Force,JTF, at the Hotoro axis of Kano.



Four of their accomplices were arrested by security operatives and they confessed to have being the masterminds of the aborted attack, said Kano state Commissioner of Police, Musa Daura.

Daura the four suspects were citizens of Niger Republic.

Nigeria shares porous borders with Niger Republic.

According to Daura the two terrorists who died in the attack disguised as water vendors and a motorcyclist.

“At about 7:30 this morning (Saturday), a terrorist disguised like a water vendor concealed explosives inside a truck
with empty jerry cans. The explosive harmed and killed them when his accomplice who disguised as a motorcyclist tried to detonate the bomb, targeting a JTF checkpoint”, Daura said.

The police boss told PMnews that the terrorists suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect targeted a millitary checkpoint, “but they did not succeed.”
