This is a case that should not be taken lightly. ReplyThere are two things stake at stake here. The life of a young lady and the reputation of Nigeria. The Nigeria immigration service in England should work with their counterparts in Nigeria and determine first - one, is she a Nigerian? This is especially as her name does not pinpoint to any particular area of Nigeria. There is nothing wrong with this. After all the president of Nigeria also has a name that sounds unlike most Nigerian names. Secondly once it is determined she is a bonafide Nigerian, there should be investigations as to the alleged story of the murder of some family members. The next step I would take if it is confirmed as true, will be to identify what other immediate family members are still living and determine their level of "safety" in Nigeria. If they are deemed to be getting on with life as normal without provocation, the next question should be - why is her life in danger as she has alleged. Now, if during investigations she is found to be telling lies in order to stay in England she should be deported as he has made false claims to immigration authorities - making her illegal. Now the reputation of Nigeria is at stake. This is because if she is found to be lying this act alone will paint all Nigerians attempting to come in with the same brush. This is already happening. A pity but true. There are numerous scam marriages going on in England at this precise time and there is a large crackdown on this illegal activity. I should point out that it does not involve just Nigerians. But we are involved and should fight our own side! Thankfully a clear photograph has been supplied with this story. This is in order for everyday Nigerians to phone in, it can be done anonymously, and to state if they recognise her. It would be another tragedy for Nigeria if she is lying and an even bigger one if this story opens a can of worms that incriminates a lot of people both highly placed and otherwise. So lets stop the silly comments as I have read so far - asking why she did not succeed in killing herself - and determine what can be done to stop such shamed faced acts if she is found to be a liar. So please lets look the wedding photograph and ask yourself did you school or live next to her? And more importantly her husband and family need the answers to fight their own case. Have a nice day!

This story sounds flaky at best. ReplyIf she fled 3 years ago after her father was killed, that would mean that she was 16 when she left. Who paid for her student visa application, her ticket and her education (you need to have been accepted at a UK education facility and paid all or part of the fees). Surely she has siblings. If her father's so-called murderers were after her, then they would also be after her siblings, so where are they? You can see why the asylum claim was rejected. There too many unanswered questions. I bet she had no idea her picture would be seen around the world!!! She had better been telling the truth.
