Hausa community in Lagos tasked on registration

Hausas in Lagos State have been urged to register with the Residents Registration Agency.
Secretary of the Hausa Leaders’ Committee in the state, Alhaji Garba Chedi, made the call while addressing newsmen in Lagos.
“About two weeks ago, the government invited leaders of different communities and told us of its plan to register people living in Lagos, and they also asked us to take the message to our people,” he said.
Chedi added, “We asked them of the rationale behind the registration exercise considering that it is a new development, and they told us that they want know the number of people in the state so that they can plan for the provision of infrastructure.”
Asked whether the plan has anything to do with the security challenges in the country, Chedi said, “It could be related”, urging all members of the Hausa community to comply.
