African history is barely taught at primary or secondary school level in these countries let alone geography.
Instead you have “Black History Month” in Britain, Canada and U.S.A to educate children about civil rights movement, a bit of slavery and civil rights heroes. In other words you hear the same names every year; Fredrick Douglas, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Rosa Park and so on. Black history month is not comprehensive…. I see it as tokenism.

Whereas in Nigeria we were taught the whole wild world at least at the secondary school level (Geography & History) and they even imposed their culture and religion on us.
