Always keep your hair dry
Try as much as possible to keep your hair dry and avoid exposing your hair when it rains. Findings show that we lose more hair during the wet season than the dry season. It helps a great deal to dry your hair as it helps prevent hair and scalp problems such as excessive hair loss and dandruff.
Use a mild shampoo
To manage damaged hair during the rainy season, look out for a mild shampoo and wash your hair properly. This will not just help in cleaning the scalp and keeping it dust and debris free, but it will also prevent further damage to the hair. Another reason you need to shampoo is because your hair might be limp and it is only shampoo that will help restore its volume.
Condition regularly
Don’t just pick up any conditioner on the shelf. Make sure you use the one that is suitable for your hair type. Never apply a conditioner to your scalp but on the hair itself so as to give it that desired shine and prevent it from breakage.
Avoid hair dryer
It’s better to let your hair dry naturally than sitting under the dryer. If you must, make sure you regulate the heat and don’t stay under it for too long. Also avoid perming or tonging as they may harm your hair and make matters worse.
Do the right hair styles
Pick hair styles that are suitable for the season. In order to protect your hair, you can use weave-ons or go on loose braids. Make sure you don’t carry it for too long. Avoid tying your hair too tightly as this may lead to hair breakage, dandruff and fungal infections.
Drink lots of water
Try and take lots of water and vegetables. They help a lot in restoring the beauty of your hair. Also foods rich in proteins are helpful too.
