With appearances on the runway for designers such as Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs, Maria has been dubbed the most wanted African runway model of 2013.
With Maria at the top, the other African models that came close to snatching the title for number 1 include Ajak Deng from Sudan, Grace Bol from Sudan, Candice Swanepoel of South Africa, Liya Kebede of Ethiopia,Katryn Kruger of South African and Miss Universe competitor Flaviana matata.
