I doubted the accuracy of this report from the beginning, and sure enough, it turns out to be false. That is all to the good -- banning an entire belief system would just embroil Angola in an ongoing resistance and would become a serious human rights issue. Banning Islam in particular would engulf it in a more energetic jihad than is being waged against it now. And no one who is committed to the freedom of conscience can support such a ban, although the Angolans and everyone else are certainly within their rights to ban and work against elements of Sharia (or any other system) that contradict universal principles of human rights.

More on this story. "Angola Denies It Banned Islam, Destroyed Mosques," by Connor Adams Sheets for International Business Times, November 25:

Angola became a hot topic in the international media over the weekend, as news outlets around the world wrote about reports that the Southwest African nation had banned Islam and had begun to dismantle mosques.

But an official at the Angolan Embassy in Washington, D.C., who did not want to be identified while discussing the sensitive matter, said that there is no such ban, and that the reports are erroneous.

“The Republic of Angola … it’s a country that does not interfere in religion,” the official said via telephone Monday afternoon. “We have a lot of religions there. It is freedom of religion. We have Catholic, Protestants, Baptists, Muslims and evangelical people.”

News of Angola’s supposed ban on Islam originated in the African press, which went so far as to quote the nation’s president and minister of culture offering statements that suggested the premise of the reports was accurate.

A second official at the Angolan Embassy in the U.S. reiterated that the diplomatic seat has not been made aware of any ban on Islam in the country...

just tell d angola president that he should b xpecting terrorist attack very soon
No particular group of individuals has a monopoly of violence. Angolans are prepared for them. If you allow them to continue they will grow stronger, if you make it unlawful, they will have to subject themselves to the law. Affer all , i  core islam countries, they destroy and burn churches. Did you hear what happened in Saudi Arabia?

Is freedom of worship not enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights? One does not have to like Muslims but that is not enough reasons to ban it in a country. People should be free to worship what they want. Angola is in breach of international human rights laws by this action.
What about saudi Arabia that banned and destroyed churches ? Or did you not hear about it? It was shown live on TV. If a religion posses threat to peace, human life and the unity of the state. Then it can be banned, no religion is above the laws of the country where is hopes to exist, if they cannot obey the laws of the land, then they have no business there. Islam has become a threat to human life, unity of Nations and peace. They do not believe in freedom of religion or personal choice of non-involvement (they believe praticers of other religions should be killed, and those who don't believe in God should be killed also). They wants to dominate and be the only religion in the world. Islam should be banned!

first of all, it is not false probably the Angolan presidency came under diplomatic pressure, thus they denied it. And Angola is not the first country in the history of the world to do it, spain did it.  And i know in a bold Government will take similar action very soon. Even if Angola might not go through with it. You should come to facebook and see the trash muslims are posting, calling those who are non-muslims funny names and saying Allah will make Islam dominate. That is so uncivilized and such people who think other people not sharing their religious believe should not exist should not exist.

 la ilaha illa allah
Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians (can mean certain ancient religion or people with no specific religion), Christians, Magians, and Polytheists,- God will judge between them on the Day of Judgment: for God (alone) is witness of all things.
Not everyone blames ISLAM and MUSLIMS .

Only a few people who are not even good followers of their own religion blame Muslims
But they forget about the Muslims who live in their neighbourhood who are calm and never did anything to them its like 10% of misguided individuals who accidentally happen to be a Muslim are winning against 90% of good muslims .

QURAN says when you kill a innocent person you kill the whole humanity and you are not a muslim.
so no matter how mush that terrorist shouts ALLAHUAKBAR !!!! It dose not matter he is a person who has been misguided not a Muslim .

Above all if Islam is called as not a peacefull religion by our hater friends WORLD WAR 3 should have begun by now( not offending anyone just explaining to haters that if Islam was to be blamed then you would hear a bomb blast in every 5min in your own street)

SO STOP BLAMING ! La ilaha illa Allah wa-Muhammad rasul Allah.

I have a question for the islamo-fascists in this here forum , why do you murderers shout  " allahu akbar " when you are about to commit mayhem ?
if your allah is truly God as claimed, dont you think he will be angry for associating his name with your stupidity ?   why shout his name when committing senseless murder, when gutting a pregnant woman , you shout allah akbar, when killing orphans, you shout allah akbar, when molesting under age girls, you shout allah akbar, ?  what is wrong with you backward moslems ?? go back to your father lucifer in hell, the world deserves peace.
