It is a pity to know that most of our leaders at the forefront of corruption are Christians... They even donate huge sums to the church...Even if they are shameless, as they portray, they should at least have a little fear of God...Well I think there is very little we can do, because it is written, 'In times to come, men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God... Cheers...

I kind of agree with Khadija.Corruption is not exclusive 2 xtainity. After all the Muslims ve ruled this country more than 'xtains'. The pathetic thing is that our religious organizations, due 2 their high level of unaccountability, appear 2 be more corrupt than even the politicians. How many of us know how our monies are being spent by our religious leaders..............We xtains will quote "touch not my anointed".Even when we see that our pastor is using our money 2 buy him/herself private jets,Hummers & universities that re out of our reach.
Well, these are all a fulfillment of 1Timothy 4:1-2,which reads"Now the spirit speaketh expressly, that in the later times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of the devils;speaking lies in hypocrisy;having their conscience seared with hot iron.  We are truly in the end times.

See my guys its a sad story every which way we look at it, men it makes me feel so bad but I've come to know that all I can do is try to be a better person so that I can say to my kids looking them in the eyes I did not stoop to corruption and if I can do that you can do it too. so my friends lets all go home and work on ourseleves to make that change.

Hi,
I am of the view that the word "christian" should be properly defined.A christian is one that has accepted Jesus Christ as his / her personal Lord and Saviour.A church goer is not a christian until he / she has accepted Christ as stated above. Most of our leaders are not christians based on the above, they are church goers. So,how would you see the effect of the Holy Spirit in their lives?A christian that is walking in the spirit ordinarily cannot be involved in corruption at every level. The Holy Spirit is there in him / her to guide as he /she is alive to His leading is ready to allow Him to lead. That doesn't mean that a christian cannot be involved in corrupt practices. This happens when he / she is not walking in the spirit or he /she hasn't renewed his / her mind (Rm. 12:2).There's always a decision to make. You have the choice which cannot be overridden by God.

Nevertheless, everybody is expected to act in the beneficial interest of other citizens. This is what is lacking in our days.Instead,we go the selfish lane and cause destruction of all sorts.God is not responsible for the evil happenings taking place. The ball is in our court. He is a good God.

A lot to share but...time.

Regards.

all human beings are corrupt be u christian or muslim, its an in-born thing. we ar all trying to be better persons. christianity or muslim doesn't make u a super-human so i think its better to deal with 'persons' in this kind of issues instead of generalising it to a sect.

Fatgirl i realli enjoyed ur comment.it is not the matter of being a muslim or christian,we all know that none of the two religion supports corruption so with that said, its our fault as individuals not the religions. Both muslims and Christians are involved in this cooruption so plz lets not make this thing a religiouse issue.
  Thanks.

Dear list

Greetings.

I am happy to be here and to share with you lovely country people.  Corruption, Corruption, Corruption every where in this land.  We shall not go into the cause of this but we can atleast seek for means to eradicate this destroying beast. How?  Bring back spirituality into our churches.  Spiritualiity will lead you to self realisation.  Self realisation will make you understand your relationship with Christ and when once you have that realisation you will stop involving yourself with things against the principle of the Christ impulse.  The truth is that everyone who rejects redemption shall be cut off and thrown into the abyss.  Nigerians lets us wake up from our slumber and accept the Christ way so that we create a society that would be likened to Heaven.  Be blessed.

Grin corruption is not a new thing in Nigeria, even a new baby can talk of it. everyone in government as taken corruption to be a normal thing and has Nigerian system of gevernning. were u can take money and nobody will ask u. chop make i chop. obj is the king in corruption so what can Ibb do, what about Abdusalami. i don't blame any of them. it was the fault of Btritan that hand over power to the house boy i.e those that were house maid and gateman, so callboy! boy!! to Queen then. how do u expect them to improve on the economy of the country. they only work on economy of their house and pocket  and all those unfotunate girls they call girlfriends
