Three students of the Government Technical College, Osogbo were yesterday arrested by the operatives of the Department of State Security DSS, for alleged cultism in their school.

However, it was gathered that one of the suspected cultists escaped arrest and his whereabout was yet to be ascertained as at press time.

It was gathered that the authorities of the college handed over the suspected cultists to the DSS to prevent further breakdown of law and order by the suspects.
It would be recalled that 26 students of the Baptist High School, Osogbo were on Tuesday suspended for alleged cult activities in the school.

Also, two students of the Osogbo High School, Osogbo were arrested and detained by the Police for alleged cult activities.

Commenting on the development, the state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Mr Saka Adesiyan said “The suspension of the students came after the state government set up a disciplinary committee to look into causes of crises in public schools. There is need for collaboration between teachers, parents and guardians to instill discipline in students”.
