Bala Nikyu, coach of the U-17 female team of Nigeria, the Flamingoes, has expressed optimism that the team will qualify for the last four of the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
The Nigerian girls face Spain in the quarter-finals, after impressive displays which saw them advance from the group stage with a 100% record.
Nikyu expects a tough game against the Spaniards, who beat Paraguay 7-1 in their last game, but remained confident that his girls have what it takes to progress.
The match will kickoff at 8:00 pm local time in Costa Rica which will be 3.00am on Friday morning in Nigeria.
