When I first visited Nigeria for the first time last year when I was 14 the police scared the living CRAP outta me. I landed in Lagos and was driving all the way to Benin City. Let me tell you I got stopped by the police about.....90 something times over the way (I remember I stoped counting after about 92). I never saw an AK-47 that close before I and I was fearing for my life. It doesnt set a good image for Nigeria. And dont get me started on the traffic, potholes, etc. If not that I like visiting my cousins I would have NEVER went back to Nigeria in m life. Also a lot of my American-born-Nigerian friends agree that the police discouraging them from visiting Nigeria. Which is bad cuz we are suppose to like the motherland and all that.
you can as well remain where u re if u dont wanna come back home. Nigeria 's indeed home and a great nation. anyone thats taking all these negative publications from foreign media houses against Nigeria seriously is on his own. we are good people. just show me one contry of the world where there are no crimes. even in the USA which u claim u live in, worst things than this happens there on a daily bases. so i think is absolutely stupidity to jump on conclusons just over one inccident. sh*ts happens in other contrys with reckless aboardon so all these noise. | Posted: at 8-09-2009 08:52 PM (15 years ago) | Hero | |

One thing I have observed is that they feel they have two heads when they are in that uniform.... And again, I have observed that Nigerians fear the uniform, not the wearer.......police should be our friends, not our foes...........
