After both teams failed to record wins in their opening encounter, Nigerians and the Bosnians know how important today’s game is to their world cup campaigns.
The nature of Nigeria's drab 0-0 draw with Iran left Super Eagles fans dejected, as their best chance of three points disappeared without a trace. The reality of the matter, however, is that they are now more or less involved in a straight shootout with Bosnia-Herzegovina for a place in the second round. Simply put, if they beat Bosnia in Cuiaba tonight, they will eliminate their opponents from the running.
Bosnia were defeated by a moment of Lionel Messi brilliance is no great shame, although moral victories count for nothing at World Cups. They have plenty of attacking threats to disrupt Nigeria, with Edin Dzeko now due a good performance following a game of relative anonymity against the Argentines - Zvjezdan Misimovic is another Bosnia mainstay.
Do you think the defending African Champions will scale through this group or they will mimic the footsteps of the World and European Champions?
NIGERIA
vs
BOSNIA and HERZEGOVINA
Common sense is indeed not common.

This will be the first ever game between Nigeria and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Nigeria have won four, lost four and drawn once against European sides at the World Cup.
Nigeria haven’t won any of their last nine World Cup games (D3 L6), their last victory was a 1-0 over Bulgaria in 1998.
Osaza may be benched in today's match due to the coach grievances and allegations he has for the star misconduct.
Vedad Ibisevic netted Bosnia-Herzegovina’s first ever World Cup goal against Argentina. He had already found the net eight times in the European World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria’s last World Cup goal from open play came in 2002 (Aghahowa against Sweden). Since then, the Eagles have mustered just three goals in five games, all from dead-ball situations.
Five of the last six goals Nigeria have conceded at the World Cup have come from set-pieces.
No player was involved in more goals than Edin Dzeko in the European qualifiers (14 – 10 goals, 4 assists).
Bosnia and Herzegovina attempted more shots at goal (11) than their opponents Argentina (9) in the opening match.
Common sense is indeed not common.
