Jealous Rage: Housewife, Temitope Ajayi Stabs Husband's Mistress

Temitope Ajayi, a 28-year-old housewife in Ogun has been arrested and dragged to court after she was accused of assaulting her husband’s mistress.

According to Premium Times report, Temitope stabbed the victim, Ganiyat Yusuf on the head and also poured urine on her for cooking for her husband while she was away.

She was arraigned on Thursday at a Magistrate Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Addressing the court, the police prosecutor, Banji Sangotokun said the offence was committed at about 2p.m on June 24 in Adigbe area of Abeokuta.

He said the victim and the accused were neighbours. Temitope had left her husband’s house for his family home where she was taking care of her father-in-law who was sick. While away, she got news that Ganiyat was cooking for her husband.

She was said to have taken offence and this led to the assault on Ganiyat.

The prosecutor disclosed that the victim was hospitalized following the assault, adding that the offence is contrary to and punishable under section 335 of the criminal code laws of Ogun State.

However, Temitope pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of stabbing levelled against her.

Presiding over the matter, the magistrate, Anthony Araba, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 and one surety in like sum, while adjourning the case to August 25.

Spouses have going to the extreme out of jealousy. It would be recalled that a cheating husband had run over his pregnant wife with his tricycle after she caught him kissing and cuddling his lover in their matrimonial home.

Why will she be cooking for someone's husband? Next time she wouldn't cook for any body's husband.  But the defendant is heartless to stab someone.
