Thiago Silva and David Luiz scored for Brazil, as the hosts beat Colombia to qualify for the semi-final of the World Cup.

This quarter-final duel was tagged as ‘The Battle of the 10s’, as Neymar and James Rodriguez came face to face, to help their team progress to the last four.

It was the Selecao’s captain who scored however, prodding in Neymar’s corner kick to give his team the lead. Luiz doubled their advantage in the second half, with a free-kick of the highest quality.

Although Rodriguez pulled one back from the penalty spot, it was merely a consolation, as Luis Felipe Scolari’s men booked a semi-final tie against Germany on July 8.
