At least 8 shoppers have died in an attack carried out by Boko Haram terrorists yesterday.
On Monday, the members of the Islamic sect fired a rocket from Banki town in Borno state to a popular shopping center, Amchide in Northern Cameroon.
“The rocket landed in Amchide, killing eight civilians and injuring many more. We fear that the number of dead will rise,” said the policeman, who asked not to be named.
This came after Amchide residents set up vigilante groups that have captured and killed several of the Islamists in Cameroon.
This latest attack has been described as retaliatory in nature.
A Cameroonian security agent said the death toll is likely to increase.
