Houston, Texas (AHN) – A chemical in red grapes has been chemically shown to lower diabetes in mice and may offer protection against the disease in humans, according to a new study.

Researchers with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center said in a statement that the chemical resveratrol, found in the skin of red grapes, may protect against the disease when acting directly on certain proteins of the brain.

Resveratrol has previously been linked with protection against type-2 diabetes, but scientists were not clear which tissues of the body were responsible for the effect.

Dr. Robert Coppari an assistant professor of internal medicine at the university and senior author of the study, said the red grape chemical works against diabetes independent of changes in food intake and body weight.

For me places of such does not really matter, what matters are, decent look of the person, how interesting the person could be and above all is the reliability in that person, coz not all that gliters are gold.
