The ex-governor of Adamawa state, Murtala Nyako, who arrived the country last week after escaping to Europe shortly after being declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently in the custody of the anti-graft commission.

Nyako was accused of theft, fraud and money laundering by the commission but claiming that the charges were politically motivated, he left the country.

Feeling confident following the inauguration of Muhammadu Buhari on Friday last week, Nyako, a retired soldier, returned the next day and was received by several senators including contender for Senate president Bukola Saraki and Danjuma Goje.

Nyako reportedly turned himself in today with the hope that he will be released in time to attend a rally being put together by his supporters. The commission has however not released him yet as interrogation continues reports THE SCCOP.
